I will wait until Bindi's male has coloured up, then make a decision then. I will have a hard time parting with Batman next weekend, he does not bite and he a really good ferret type. Actually none of the 8 week old babies bite...I will more pics of them before they go.
Katt- you will be happy to know the little girl you like is only going to my next town, so I can visit her and see how she looks as an adult.
My "Breeding Program" is going to the vet in a week or two to get desexed. I have decided Buffy has had 2 litters now, and I think that is enough for her little body to cope with. Ozzie has had 2 litters as well, so he is going with Buffy on the same day. Bindi can go after the babies are sold, as it was too much for her mentally & physically. The male baby I decide to keep will be desexed next winter. It will be nice to have all of them living and playing together, all desexed and happy (and no smelly hobs). All season Ozzie has had to live & play alone, so he was not happy about that. He will be 11 months old when I get him desexed so he has had time to mature (and sire some stunning babies too).

Awww They are sooo cute! That is happy news that you will be able to check in on the little girl from time to time. The little girl in the first picture (Emmy) looks super cute too - she is loke a Ghost panda. haha

What made you change your mind about your breeding program? I understand the outcome and agree with your decision regarding your two little jills. They've had a hard time, both physically and mentally. Are you not going to breed any more? or have you changed directions? ciao

I am not a breeder as such, have only had the 3 litters. Originally I bred Buffy as I thought it would be nice for her & Weasel to have a litter before they got desexed. Weasel was desexed when I knew Buffy was pregnant. Buffy was going to be desexed some time before spring, Bindi going with her at the same time. Well, as we have had such a mild winter, Buffy came on heat in winter. Ozzie is such a stunning looking boy, we decided to breed both jills to Ozzie, then get them all desexed. Bindi came on heat in winter as well.
It was a very hard decision to desex Buffy, as she has beautiful babies and is the world's best mummy, and she really loves being a mum. But I think she has had enough.
Next reason is summer, Australian summers are very hot, it gets to about 112 here, and it makes things a lot easier if I can put all the boys & girls inside in the 1 room where it is cool. I don't have indoor cages, just a spare bedroom that they free roam in when it is too hot for them outside. If Ozzie was not desexed, then I don't know what I am going to do with him for the hot days, he would have to stay outside with heaps of frozen bottles and a swimming pool..
So no, I am not breeding anymore. But never say never...When Buffy had the first litter last year, I knew nothing about breeding or rearing kits. But I did know a lot about breeding dogs, pigs, birds & horses. I did a lot of internet reading on breeding & rearing, the rest is from my experience and common sense. I have learned a great deal from my 3 litters, and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. On the downside now is Adrenal risk, I will talk it over with my vet about whether to Suprelorin implant now or later. It would be nice to pass on my experience if any one wants my help or advice with breeding or rearing the little ones. Please feel free to PM me for help or advice..
