My ferrets dook the most when they "escape" from the bedroom and mom chases them. And to make this the BEST dook attack of all, only one ferret must be involved with this game...each of the brats requires undivided, special attention - i.e., one-on-one time with mom and no other ferrets around. They go extra nuts for the attention when it's doled out on a an individual basis -jennifer

Playing chase and "catch the ferret". They start dancing/dooking with fur on end, backs arched, mouths opened, shuffling quickly backwards til it's their turn to "catch" me Rules seem to be(hey- it's their rules, not mine, so I'm never too sure exactly what they are, ) one on one, and they cannot be actually "caught". Game ends right there if I do, but they ALWAYS are allowed to "catch" me by the leg when they launch themselves at me

Yes, the chase game for sure. We have two special places to do it. One is the downstairs half bath where I am to guard the door to prevent their escape. The other is the living room furniture. The couch, loveseat and chair are arranged in a U and are close enough for the ferts to jump from one to the other. I sit on the coffee table and they scramble under throw pillows and blankets and I lunge after them.

Bed making...nothing like clean sheets and 7 or 8 ferrets on a bed. Squishing the bed lumps usually results in lots of dooking from the crew and screaming from the deafies. For Napoleon....find the she ferret in the blankies. ciao

With my previous ferrets, I remember that my male, who was deaf (and it seems abnormally silent for a deafie, because he hardly ever made any sound), absolutely LOVED it when I turned off all my lights, turned on the strobe light, and slid him across the room. He would then leap and war dance and dook some. It was hysterical because you'd see a ferret lit up in space in one spot and then it would flash and he'd be leaping and contorting in another spot. He was always disappointed when I turned the lights back on. It was one of the greatest things ever. I can't wait to try it again in the future when I have fuzz butts again.

Those are all very good reasons for a ferret to dook, Aaron

Too bad strobe lights make me feel like going into a seizure! lol Those things drive me nuts. That would be so fun though. I bet it looked awesome. Koda dooks when I let him out of my room to run in the hallway and rest of the apartment. Which of course means that I am also required to play a game of chase. Right now he is so excited to be out to play he is dooking more loudly than I have ever heard at everything! lol Poor little guy. I wish I knew where my video camera ran off to so that I could have taped it. Tomorrow we are going on a looong play time/walk outside followed by more playtime inside. Then we will probably play, and then platy some more! Then when he crashes, I will snatch him up and snugle while I read my Non-School related book! Ahhhhh.... Koda is pretty quiet, but he is verbal at the same time. He dooks when he is happy, and he dooks to himself a lot, but he typically dooks quietly. Lately he gets soooo excited to be out that he dooks pretty loudly. Apparently he dose hiss and have war cries (well, once) to play chase outside though! lol

I wish I knew where my video camera ran off to so that I could have taped it. Really, Katt? You're Koda's mom- one of the most rebellious and excited ferrets on the forum and YOU'RE asking where something went?!!? Use your brain, woman! Your camera dun been stashed by a mischievious ferret My ferrets dook the most when they're playing with eachother

Your camera dun been stashed by a mischievious ferret My ferrets dook the most when they're playing with each other haha Good point! Actually though, I lost it while Koda was not allowed out in my room without super close supervision because of the mess. I was rearranging my room and my camera got lost in the mess. I found it, now I just have to remember where I decided to store it. I lose things all the time by "hiding" them from myself...aka putting it in a new spot that I "will remember exactly where it is" and then forgetting where that good spot is. It is actually easier to find things when Koda stashes them - I now where his stash spots are..
