I found this really cool dogtoy that makes my brats go nuts!!! It's a large plush sherpa ball tat makes a quacking noise when it's squished/bounced. It's about 1.5-2 feet in diameter. I bought it as a gift form my fur nephew (Lab puppy), and the brats have taken it over.
The brats all chase it and pounce on it. They love to drag it around and beat the crap out of it. Their tales get all poofed out and the dancing begins !
I'll see if I can find the brand and a place to check this out online. It was only 15.00. Definitely should be used under upervision if you have fabric eaters

My guys only ever donk at each other, when rough housing. My fav is Zeke and his attitude. When him and Neka are rough housing... and zeke wins (or aleast neka gives up trying to win ) Zeke waddles away donk like he`s saying `how dare that whipper snapper think he can push me around, well i showed him` the best is when zeke is donking away like this and Neka jumps on him again!

Anytime I chase them they'll dook When they play with eachother, of course, and the cat teaser. The spray bottle doesn't work for me... Izzy just drinks it lol!

So dooking is the noise they make when they do the cute dances? I had ferrets (5) about 12 years ago and never heard them make noises. Why? Because Im hard of hearing and when Im home I take both aids off. When their off im completely deaf. I tell you when i get my ferts the aids will be staying on when Im home and playing with them ...I WANT to hear the dooking. Let the dooking party BEGIN!!!!

It really is pretty cool And there are different types of "dooking". Happy dooking, like what we are talking about here. Determined dooking, as in "I'm GOING to get through this door if it's the last thing I do". Angry dooking, or chattering(almost sounds like a ticked off squirrel). And a sort of "I'm curious- and I smell another ferret" type of dooking that my two deaf ferrets do when exploring someone else's cage.

They'll dook, a more urgent dook, if they are hurt too or caught up on something.

I remembered a good one that one of my past ferrets used to do. I have two cats. One, the ferrets love to tease cus he doesn't stick up for himself much. The other, they learn not to mess with right away cus if they even get close to her they will get a good thump on the head. Well one of my ferrets figured out how she can more safely bug the ornery cat. She would climb under the comforter the cat was laying on then poke her nose at her. Meanwhile the cat is getting pissed and batting and hissing at the ferret, but with the comforter it softened the blows. So my ferret would just dook up a storm at how smart she was They so love to get a rise out of others. One of my favorite things about them Here's my favorite picture of them together. (took pic out to not stretch things too badly) Pickles (the cat) was actually really cute and gentle with Nachoda (the ferret) when Nachoda was a baby and an only ferret. I think Pickles was hurt after Nachoda ditched her for another ferret and that's when she started being so ornery towards them. I absolutely love pictures of ferrets and cats together. I think it is so cute. I love this one. When Zoe was an only ferret, her and Elliott (the cat) were best friends. They still play sometimes now, but nowhere near as often.

Yes, Aaron....ferrets sometimes dook when they're angry. Fun-Go (probably not a good example, deafie) and Odin(much better example) both dook when they're ticked about something. Now the more peculiar observation about this is both males are heads or alphas of their businesses and they only do it at each other. They usually do this when they're doing cage wars. They get all poofy and they get bottle brush tails and they dook very loudly at each other. My son claims they're swearing loudly at each other ciao
