No, not pumpkin pie filling....that has sugar and spices in it. You will find the pumpkin either in the cooking section or the canned fruits along with the applesauce and such. If you can't find ask a clerk, they will know where to find it. ciao

urgh cant believe i didnt think of looking there! and i'd pass on asking a clerk, theyre all 16 year olds on their first jobs and never know where anything is! its so frustrating, all they do is go down every single aisle until they find it.lol

Don't cut them down...some of those kids were and are stock clerks and sometimes know where some of the most obscure products are. You just have to know which one who knows where all the secret stock is ciao

Try to look for the cheapest one in the pie section. That's usually the "pure" pumpkin. Pick up the cans, and check the ingredients. If it says "pure pumpkin" in the ingredients, that's it.

I think you may have to start ordering things online if the only store in your town just has one brand of everything. Even in my home town of 1000 people, we had a LOT more choice than that. Can you buy baby food there? If so, get the Pureed squash. It will do the same thing. Or even better- buy a squash yourself and cook it. It really doesn't matter what kind. Buy it, cook it, puree it, and freeze it in ice cube trays.
