urgh my stupid vet only takes cats&dogs so i have to go further. ill go back to the pumkin idea, i'll try another grocery store, cause the one near me has pretty much nothing. (i wasnt kidding when I said I lived in a hole lol). im trying to give them more bones right now, they do drink a whole lot of water and I give them new water everyday so it's always fresh water. I'm disinfecting their whole cahe right now too, cause I work at a petshop/rescue so I dont wanna be bringing home fleas and deseases so I'm making sure their cage is shinny clean!

Instead of giving more bones(you don't want to cause an imbalance from to much calcium), try some plain yogurt. If they have a bit of a bacterial overgrowth causing the yucky poops, it will help.

How much yogurt have they had? Could be from that. What has the vet said about a bacterial overgrowth?

they havent had any yogurt and I havent been able to go to the vet that does treat ferrets cause I the one I thought took ferrets, turns out they only clip their claws...they dont actually treat them. That's 3 vets in my area that dont take ferrets!

Where are you located? Maybe we can find one somewhere near you.

Which one of the ferrets is pooping the white stool? I agree with sherrylynne, do you feel comfortable posting where you are so that maybe we can help you find a ferret vet? Pm sherrylynne or myself with what city you're in or near so that your little ones can get to a vet. I would seriously be thinking of getting them to a vet. White stools generally are not a good thing. ciao

its weird, it dris white, but doesnt come out white? i live in pointe-calumet, qc,canada. its also rare now, like its not always white. i think they would need bone like everyday or somethign cause as soon as they eat something but bone, their poo is liquid.

Sounds to me that your little ones require bone daily, at least in the manner that they're eating it. The stool drying to white is what dog people call a bone poop (all it means is that they've had bone in the last 24 hrs). If it's not coming out white or pasty but doing this after it dries I would be less concerned. Try bone daily and then back off to every other day and see what happens. Think about it, when we feed prey they get bone every day. My guys get bone daily because they get prey daily. It's just a thought. I would check out the contacts that sherrylynne posted though. It's never good to be without a ferret vet. ciao

ok i feel like ive been trying so many things and nothing is working.i kind of just need a quick recap as to what i should do when their poo is liquid. what supplements could I give them? I'm going to get more bones and give them at least one bone each a day. So far the only bone ive found they can eat is either from chicken wings or chicken necks&backs.

Remove all supplements. Take yourself to the beginning. Meat, bone, organ once a week, egg once a week. That kind of thing, no supplements, no additives. If the only bone you can get is chicken, then lets leave it at that and go forward from there. Different types of bone would be nice, but you can get by without difficulty with feeding chicken as your main source in bone "But" remember you still have to provide other protein sources. If we cannot get this to stabilize when we do this, then we might have to look at the possibility of a protein sensitivity. We will deal with that when the time comes. ciao

That's ok. Egg isn't a necessary part of the diet. I've got some that just adore it, and others who like it only in their food. I just included it as I use it as a base. What I wanted you to do is take it back to whatever your little ones consider bare diet. No, additives or anything. At one point I found my guys having digestive issues and I started to panic, but what had happened was that through the time that I had been raw feeding and reading other people's posts, I had added this and that trying to make my guys diet better. So my original mentor told me to strip my diet down to just what a carnivore needed. Meat, bones, organs and veggies for fur (the veggie used was squash) and only use one protein. The protein that I used was chicken because I could get all the necessary components for that protein. In the end it was really simple....mild sensitivity to beef (meaning I couldn't feed it more than once a week) and I was feeding some heavy cream to try and put on weight....that was the biggy the heavy cream. Got rid of that and things were wonderful. Now, I also have a couple of little ones who cannot tolerate yogurt but they can tolerate acedophelous (sp?) so I use that instead. These are just ideas, they may or may not provide a solution to the digestive issues that your little ones may be suffering. I would strongly suggest though that you do find a good ferret vet or at least a vet that will treat your little ones. There is absolutely nothing more terrifying than finding a little one who is deathly ill or covered in blood (that was mine) and discovering you need a vet right then and now and not having one (mine left on mat leave). Believe me the last thing you want to be doing is holding your little one in your arms, crying while you try and find a vet some dark night on a weekend (that's when they always get sick ) ciao

ok so right now their diet is
mon-bone (which like i said, is usually chicken wings or chicken necks/backs because any other bone seems to be too big and they just wont eat it) tueday-muscle (which is usually beef or porc heart, i cant remember, i have a reallyhard time finding muscle meats, all i seem to find are chicken hearts anythign else is so hard to find!) wednesday- bone thursday- muscle friday-bone saturday- organ (which is usually beef or porc liver, depending on which my grocery store has taht week) and bone sunday-bone
i really try to find differant meats but grocery stores dont really sell what people dont eat so..even my butcher didnt have most of what i needed.i feel like i have NO options in meats, maybe i just dont have a lot of ideas? also, i found a holistic food sshop somewhat near my house, i really want to go look at it sometime, i dont know if they have anything besides cat and dog food, but it's worth looking. as for a vet, apperently there is one in the middle of nowhere but half hour-45 minutes from my house that takes all exotic animals.
