Thank you thank you. I finally figured out the name for the treat I was looking for. Here it is: www.shopping.com/xPO-Treats_Beefeaters_Freeze_Dried_Chicken_Liver_Treats_14_ozWhat do you think? By the way we just got another ferret named Jack, he's 9 weeks old and is already on the raw diet. He eats chicken like their is no tomorrow and I will be giving him some beef and some treats to get him use to it. As for Fern, i'm hoping that she starts eating like Jack haha... she's been doing good and is very consistent but still will not eat without the smell of kibble. By the way, Fern just turned 6 months this month. That's considered an adult already right?

Those look good, my only concern would be where the meat comes from and where they are made. As I said before, I'm not against other countries or anything but I'm not comfortable with recommending or feeding stuff from other countries.. Except Canada because they are stricter than the US. Congratz on the new fuzzie!! And yay for him taking to raw so quickly :-) Fern just needs her time, I know that right now it seems like she'll never give up on the kibble but she will. It took Weezer about 6 months but now it's like he never knew what kibble was!!
Fern would be considered a "Young adult".

Just wondering, do you think it will help Fern t osee what Jack is eating raw? I let them eat together, Jack eating chicken in the morning and beef at night. Fern eating chicken or beef with her kibble. Sometimes she would look over to see what he was eating and sniff it but wouldnt take a bite. Do you think it helps that she sees him eating it though?

A ferret watching another eat can help. Her wanting kibble sprinkled on her meat is just something that you will have to cater to until she decides she no longer needs it. From a very young age a lot of ferrets are programed to eat kibble, that's what she wants. You want to feed her raw so you've got to taylor to her "wants" by sprinkling the kibble over it.

Yeah, i was so happy, she pulled all the chicken liver out of her bowl and placed it on the news paper we laid out and started going at it. By the way, our little boy Jack just eats anything, should I start giving him bones?

Well, I been kind of busy this week, I have been working over time and then spending the rest of the night with the little fuzzies, I can tell you that we are making some progress. Fern eats the meat with kibble as usual but sometimes she will take a huge chunk of chicken out and start biting some of it....sometimes she'll just take it out to give it a good licking and then move on , while Jack just eats everything. I'm also waiting for my order of treats to come in. I'm also thinking of buying a dark plastic place for them to eat at. Right now i'm using cardboard and they don't last very long.... at least this way they are also easy to wash/clean.

I was sick all week.. I had a cold then Yesterday I ended up with a migraine headache and I felt nauseas.. I'm feeling MUCH better though.
It's so nice that Fern is improving, sometimes you've just got to stay put and wait it out. I'm also glad to hear that Jack is doing so well, what does his menu look like? He might be ready to graduate. A plastic den will be much better :-)

hope youre feeling better. Another busy week for me, I bought some treats and Fern does not like them of course. Jack on the other hand doesn't even think twice. I tried giving him a bone but he doesn't seem to be taking it. He will eat everything BUT the bone. Any suggestions? Also, I know this is non related but....Fern seems to be an inactive ferret. She loves being held and does play, but im just wondering if you have any inactive ferrets of your own and how do you get them to start playing? I just get exhausted trying to play with her that's all. She's still eating the chicken with kibble.

Try cutting the bone open or smashing it... Another thing to try is feeding a meaty bone with most of the meat cut off, that way he doesn't get full from the meat before he gets to the bone.
Ravi is somewhat inactive, he loves when you play "hide under the sheet".. Just take a towel or sheet and throw it over her then pull it up really fast, like "down, up, down, up". It causes everyone to go crazy and war dance then "attack" eachother.. They also like cat teasers.
Has Fern eaten bones yet?

Hello,
I tried cutting the bone and what you suggested but I don't think Jack can bite into it. I didn't have much meat on their and I know that he eats A LOT but he just left the bones on the side. Fern hasnt had bones yet but when Jack left the bones on the side she sniffed it and moved on. Also it's been a busy week for me especially because they are cutting more people at work...which means more work for us. I just noticed yesterday when I went to pick Fern up that she lost some weight so im really concerned and going to ruch her to the vet tonight. I think she may have insulinoma but im hoping not. She's always been inactive since we got her but this weekened when I was home, she was mostly sleeping and only came out to play with Jack in the morning. I hope it's nothing.
P.S Jack will eat anything so he's already on the raw diet...he loved his freeze dried treats (wholelife) and eats beef/chicken.

What bones did you try??
What did you find out about Fern?? It could be that she has just lost winter weight if she isn't overly skinny. Jack will be able to graduate once he eats bone. Fern needs to get to that point too, you may want to suppliment her with a bit of egg shell powder until she is eating bone.
