I tried Chicken bones and Jack got to the point where he ripped it apart but he can't bite through the whole thing, although he tries. Fern still doesn't like eating the chicken/beef/chicken liver without the kibble. You can get egg shell powder from any grocery store right?
Also, I have to call them tomorrow to see the results of the blood test. Hopefully some good news.

Hmmm, do you have access to cornish game hens?? If you try with giving him wings from those they will be very easy to chew and it will get him used to it so you can move up to bigger bones.
Fern is still fine with the kibble, she will eventually eat the food without it. It took Weezer quite a while but he LOVES his plain meat now.
You should be able to get the egg shell powder at the grocery store, I've heard that you can.

Hello,
So guess what? I bought some cornish game hen a week ago and Jack ate most of it! He did take a bite of the bones but couldn't finish all of it. The guy just eats anything he sees so i'm not surprised.
About the ear buds, I am guessing he did. I saw white pieces of chewed up stuff in his poop but i couldn't tell EXACTLY, if they were the ear buds but it was clear.. they were very well chewed up though so I'm not sure. There is honestly some weird stuff you can find when you look at his poop. I never really did any looking in Fern's poop because she is not the type to eat anything and everything. Probably why it's so hard for her to switch.
Anyways for the most part we give Jack raw, he seriously HATES kibble. The only time we gave him kibble again was when we ran out of raw meat because we forgot to buy it..I think it was during good Friday here and all the stores were closed! Fern's doing fine! Sometime I would alternate giving her food so that she would get use to it. We'd give her blended chicken and then sometimes whole chicken etc etc we still had to mash up the kibble or add a bit of water and let it sit there, then mix it with the chicken. Oh and got the egg shells but Fern doesn't like it

Wow!! Jack is doing so well!!!
Weezer was horrible with foam rubber, it is pretty much ban from my bedroom now (my bedroom is also the ferret room).. He seems to have found a new "treat" though, my cell phone CHARGER!!! Lilly and Ravi aren't into eating non-food items but they were very easy to switch to raw.
Have you tried mixing the egg shell in with her moist kibble or blended chicken??

Hello, So last week I bought some cornish hen and Jack finished all of it yesterday. Those things are a bit expensive . since I ran out, we had some chicken left and just gave him some of that (without the bones). As treats I give him chicken liver for now. Maybe once or twice a day in very small pieces. As for Fern she will only eat the egg shells if you put a very tiny bit or else she won't touch her food at all. She loves it when I put the chicken in the grinder and grind it up into very tiny pieces kinda like a soup and then mix it with her mashed kibble. Sometimes I see her eat the chicken by itself I now sprinkle a bit of egg shell in there and i'll gradually keep putting more and more in update: Jack just finished his first chicken neck. haha just watched him gooble it all up. took him awhile but he ate it all wow...

Fern still continues to progress in eating meat. There are times where she will eat very small pieces of meat on their own but hates eating them in huge chunks. She also likes the egg powder in only small amounts. If I give too much...she won't eat it.
As for Jack, he is a little monster. He eats everything and anything. Bones now too. He doesn't settle for Kibble anymore and will always look for his chicken/beef. I only give him Freeze dried treats as well. He doesn't like the N-bones and that's Fern's favorite treat haha

Sorry I didn't reply sooner, I went out of town and have been dealing with my newest fuzzy.
It is awesome that Jack polished off that CGH, you don't have to feed a lot of it. It's really just the same as chicken, but younger and with softer bones, it's good for ferrets that are new to raw and it's good for them to get a variety of prey ages.
Just take your time with Fern and don't get frustrated, it can take time. And sometimes it can take quite a while but she will eat normally eventually.

Hi! That's not a problem. I do have some things that I have to solve with Jack though. He pretty much eats anything and everything. He eats anything raw that I feed him with the bones but...he also eats clothes and fabric. I might have to take him to the vet if he doesn't pass this last one because it's really worrying me. We got rid of all the rubber in the house and now it's cloth! It's not just a type of cloth either.. its EVERY Cloth.
I been sprinkling some freeze dried stuff on Fern's meal once a day..is that ok or no? just because I want to give it to her as treats.

Hmmm, I would get that checked out. I'm not sure if it is true but I've heard that it could mean ulcers in their stomach. If that doesn't check out then maybe you should try switching detergent?? Maybe the stuff tastes good?
Freeze dried stuff on Ferns food is good, it is really no different then feeding regular raw. Just in a dry form.

Hello, i'll continue to sprinkle the freeze dried treats then . For Fern, I give her tiny bits of chicken in her kibble in the morning and that's what she has until I get home at night. Usually at night, I give her the egg shells now with the sprinkles freeze dried treat. Every other friday she gets chicken liver. She really enjoys the liver probably because she loves how it's so soupy. ( I blend it) Sometimes she'll even eat it without the kibble! Jack eats chicken and beef regularly with some bones. He can't stand kibble and won't eat a lot if that's what he's given. Today we'll be going to the vet when I get home to do a check up on him.

The check up was fine. Our vet thought that he has ECE because his stool was lime green! I recommended doing xrays anyways. I gave her Jack's stool and it came our negative for ECE which I figured but we did it anyways just to cross it out of the list. Jack is acting fine, he's eating well, he's drinking and playing. He's still very active and show no sign of blockage except for his stool. He's been pooping medium size stools but I know something is in there due to the xray. It showed some gas patterns in his stomache...not much but there was some. If there is something stuck in his stomache..I didn't know it would show some blockage I thought it would only show blockage is it was in the intestines? Anyways, I'm not sure what the options are after this...im hoping he can get it to come out. I been giving him lax/pumpkin but I don't like the sugar... i know fibre isn't good either but I read if you mix vetasyl with duck soup that it also helps with getting stuff out.

Hello, We went to the vet again today and Jack is fine disite that I still think he has cloth inside his stomach. They did a full examination and told me not to worry too much about it before if he is acting fine then it we shouldn't be going into conclusions. I have been a but worried so I been giving him some lax but I really don't like giving him sugar... Just bought Fern and Jack more chicken and beef today they were running out. I also see Fern sometimes picking out the chicken in her kibble which makes me really happy! Otherwise everything is great

Poor Jack.
Have you tried Castor oil as a lax?? That is what I use if I think they need a lax.
It sounds like Fern is progressing well :-p
