Mr. Colbert is getting along graand. c8 Yesterday I bought him some huge crinkly hidey holes and a tube to connect them. It's a cat toy so Stewart and Bruce can play in it together, Lol. He was dooking and dancing all night,  Ahh, Well, It's organ day! So he's eating fine. :3 I'm actually checking in on getting frozen mice online, My mom is kinda' tip-toeing towards the idea of it. x3 |

Oh boy! Bastien is getting along great as well, he and beast were fighting over a chicken thigh when brian and i left this morning =P Also We have great news on the homestead i am FINALLY moved in all i have to do is fill my waterbed when i get home from work tonight
=)
Frozen mice is better than live mice explain iit to her that way... *giggles*

My mom was actually very interested in what ferrets eat and was all "woah cool" when she found out they ate mice everyone is forever interested as heck in the fact that Beast eats mice =P brian has an obcession with watching Beast kill and eat the mice.. i think its morbid and always say thanks for the life of the little mouse in question but even when i buy fgrozen rats i say thanks because it gave its life for my ferret.. it makes me feel better about feeding rodents in the scheme of things.

Congrat's on your completion of moving!  That's awesome. Ha, don't let your fuzzbutts get on the waterbed, unless you want them getting a new swimming pool. ; D Oh yeah, she already knows that, Omg, She'd be freaked out if I started keeping/breeding live mice, I'D be freaked out with myself, xD Oh yeah, That's what I think, I think it's all pretty cool, and after everything I've read about feeding whoel prey you do kind of get immune to the mousies being dead and cute, and just start thinking of them as food for your babies. What your saying I agree with. Saying a little thanks to the mouse, for yourself, I get you. It's great to use that for coping with the whole thing. Oh, I found a great site to order them off of, but I won't feed mice until I get my little girl. I'll start feeding them mice together. Plus, I need to pay for all of it, Lol. But it's in my planning, I definitly want to feed him (them both) whole prey along with raw meat. So, it's just a matter of time. :] |

Well, This morning when I went to feed him, (Today is Pork Neck Day) I found out how stupid I am, I had put his pork neck in the freezer last night, So I took it out to let it thaw on the counter. But, I had to feed him so I cut up a (thigh?) from the Cornish hen, but he wasn't interested in it at all, he would smell it, maybe give it a lick, but nothing else.
He has to be hungry he hasn't eaten since last night.. Hm, Was he just not in the mood for Cornish hen? Lol,.. Well, I'll feed him the Pork neck in about an hour, and find out then if he's hungry or wants it.
I'm just a wee bit worried about him, I know he's not a big eater though, so this could just be natural for him.

Beast isnt a big eater either, and sometimes they just arent in the modd for something. brian thinks i'm a neurotic momma and he'll eat when hes hungry but im a neurotic momma and switch out what he decided he DIDNT want for something else should he not eat... Bastien is taking to raw like a champ food is disappearing twice as fast as it normally does ... So just watch him, if hes NOTICEABLY going down in weight do something about it (kibble BLAH, or make some duk soup with cream or my favorite is just add some lard to their diet, its an animal fat so even though its cooked its better than a dairy product imo.
And thanks. I finally got my waterbed set up and now i cant get any sleep in it because The brian comes into my room at night "i cant sleep without you next to me" then proceeds to toss and turn all night. And i dont worry about the ferts on my waterbed, the airmatress survived the beasts kit hood.

Well, Its 1pm now, so at about 3-4, [or 5, just depending on when he's hungry] I'll give him that Tuna Shake, x3 It'll be a nice treat for him, if he even likes it, Lol. ; D

He's reeeaeaeally tired right now, So, he wasn't interested in his Tuna Shake. But, I'm sure late tonight he'll be ready, he did lick a bit off my finger before he curled up and closed his eyes, Haa, Oh and He laid his head on my hand for awhile while he was resting, So Precious. c8 <3
Anyway, I put some eggshell and chicken bone in the tuna shake, I'm thinking he needs more calcium in his diet. That pork neck was a bad idea, and I don't think he liked it all that much, |D Well, Live and Learn. Lol,
Well, He is doing great, I think he's just tired lately, That trip to the library was prolly alot for him, I dunno, Ha. x3

Okay well, An interesting update on my man, Colbert. First off, When he woke up, I hand fed him some chicken, putting some in the Tuna Shake, (He's not so crazy about it, But I'll baby him on it until he gets used to it, Lol), He ate about 3 peices of it, and then when he'd come back for more he'd carry it off behind the dresser and drop it off there, then come back for more, he only did it two times, but it was so cute, He is such a ferret, Well, Then I took him outside, and he had a BLAST, He was running around, chasing cars, diggi'n up the dirt. He also found a rabbit hole and slipped half himself in there a couple times, I just put my shoe over the whole and he'd walk some other way, Lol. So, He was out there for a good hour and a half or so, when I brought him back in he ate a few more chicken breast peices, then started stashing one away, after the one, he tucked himself in and I kissed him goodnight and he went to sleep.  He is such an adorible little baby, I just can't stand it!!! xDD I love my little fuzzbutt. <3333 Oh and AWESOME news. My friend's Stepdad hunts so he's gonna hook me up with MEAT, Yayah! I'm so phsyched, 'Cause it's FREEE, Lol, xD At least I hope so, Ya know maybe I'll pay him 5 bucks, Lol. He just hunts for fun, (I hate hunting soooo much, but now that I have a ferret.. its alright, xDD Lol, Funny how things work. ) Alright, I hope your little chubby Bastien, and your Beasty are doing fabulous! Sounds like colbz had a blassstttt and i dont order mice, i prefer to do the live thang its cheaper for me and gives the little monsters some enrichment
I will give your love to the boys, Canned tuna = Cooked and it has a lot of salt unless you get the low sodium kind just an fyi it cant hurt as a treat but you probably dont want to feed it as a major staple because not only is canned tuna cooked but fish makes ferrets even smellier.
I love how when i take the ferrets to a pet store or my mothers house that i get remarks on how "odorless" my ferret(s) are. (only i know how bad they stink when they are at home and decide to stash chicken or pork or beef or heck even the rodents i feed in their tube or somewherre in my room and let it "ripen" before gorging themselves on it BLEH)
Keep an eye out for stashing Bastien isnt into "ripened" meat but wow.. Beast LOVES to let his mice rats and other assortment of foods age before he eats them, and since i took to removing food out of the cage after about an hour or so (depending on the time of day) hes taken to stashing hunks of it around the house.
I was so proud of bastien today, i came into my room and heard crunching, and looked and beast was asleep on the first level in the hammock and bastien was on the top level of the cage nomming the heck out of a chicken thigh *giggles* it was like.. *crunch crunch hiss nom* repeat =P
Has colbert been eating bones yet? or atleast gnawing on them?
Keep me updated on all the new things he tries and gimme rundowns of what you're gonna try or have already tried you're doing great!

It's easy to see where Stewart stashes them, It's in the same spot. I'm gonna put a feeding box there so He can stash it and it will be easy to disinfect. :3

Alright, Yeah, Stewart has been eating bones. He eats the ends off and I think after time he will eat more of it; He leaves crumbs behind, But that's okay, I suppose.
So He is eating bones, But I want to give him more; his poo is looking runny, like he's needing more calcium in his diet.. How can I give him that?
I'm wanting to give him duck and rabbit, maybe some squirrel, Watever my hunter friend gets his hands on, I'm waiting for him. ;] Since my store carries squat, xD
And, Later on more in furture tone, I'm going to start him on mice, I'm going to switch him like that when I get my baby girl in June. x3 She's going to be put on Raw as soon as she can eat, Because the breeder is a Raw Feeder, I'm soo lucky!! Lol, ; D

yay lucky you, especially since Colbert has been an easy switch so far, just remember his poo will not be kibble solid. its going to be runny and funky for a while. i've gotten so used to lose poopies that i dont notice anything is up unless theu DO change.
if you leave meat cleaned bones in there or get some from the petstore meant for dogs you can play with him and see if he gnaws on them or if you're still worried get some powdered eggshell from the store and mix it in his tuna treat.
I'll be around more regularly for a little while i wrecked my truck yesterday and my ankle is sprained so im outta comission for a while =( Luckily the truck is more than likely fixable and Brian (my S.O) says that the wreck wasnt my fault it was something mechanical

Yeah, I'll do that, But, I have a problem, Lol, I have no Idea where he stashed his bone, Ha, and there's not many places that he could.. So.. I'm sort of perplexed. I guess he could have eaten it all, But I seriously doubt that. When I left there was a whole leg in there, I'd be surprised if the meat was gone.
So.. Yeah, I'll have to find that, then shampoo the whole carpet, Lol. |D

Just keep it up, i dont know where he could have stashed the bone either i dunno your house haha.. but ferrets are muchlike dogs heather says they dont gnaw on the bones the same way but they do like bones to chew on.
I'm gon na take a wild assumption and say its like an after dinner mint or a tooth pick ahahaha
My ankle isnt too bad unless someone (brian) touches it hahaha.. my face isnt too bad either. And SO is significant other.
