You need to feed atleast THREE different types of animals in the end so you can use a variety but i was thinking get him on a schedule hes used to and wings arent meals they are more like snacks. Legs thighs and breasts are what you should be giving him wings dont have enough meat to bone ratio. You can add variety in any time you like the weirder the better if you want you can go take a look at my 3 and 6 month updates on Beast going raw to see what i feed my monster on a weekly basis. hes in the newbie switch archive. under Beast Goes Raw. I feed whole prey though so you dont have to do that but if you feed whole prey along with meat from the grocery store it kinda cuts back on buying or in my case trying to find organs because he gets EVERYthing with mice rats baby quail ect ect and anything we eat meat wise (thats raw ham bologna and other stuff like that HE CANNOT have. too much salt) ferrets can eat heck brian was feeding beast raw hamburger out of his hand the other day (Brian is my S.O.) it was so cute i came into the kitchen and brian was crouched down feeding beast treats of hamburger.

Oh, my goodness, I was feeding him snacks for a few days, o.o Well, He's eaten one wing already minus the bone because he had dragged it on the carpet and it didn't look right so I had to throw that away. But he's eating the second one now, and I need to know if I should take the organs out of the freezer, Is he going to be trying those out soon?
Yeah, I'll check out your posts and mix in some of the things I can do, and I'll make up a meal plan. :]
Awwh, How cute. x3 Okay, I understand, and I'm sorry I didn't get on here sooner, there's not alot of time, but I know that's not an excuse so I'll shut up, Ha.
Alright, He's doing good and I'll have to buy another chicken later this week, and start freezing that. And I'll probably be getting a quail too, My store holds that, so thats good. :]
Okay, Thanks so much. x3

Okay so, I conjured this plan up, you tell me if it's a good one. :] As you can see, I used the tips from Beasty's switch archive and added a chicken wing when he has organs.
RMB: Mon. Wed. Fri. Sun. Organs: Tues. Thurs. Meat: Sat.
Monday: Chicken Wings
Tuesday: Organs, along with a chicken wing
Wednesday: Chicken Legs
Thursday: Organs, along with a chicken wing
Friday: Chicken Thighs
Saturday: Turkey/ Beef/ Chicken Breast (Whichever is on hand at the time)
Sunday: Quail (Bits of the quail meaty and boney. I've never dealt with quail before so I don't know what I'm getting into, But I'll figure it out when I get it. :] )
I know he'll probably have leftovers alot of these days. What am I do to with those?

I usually leave food out for an hour in the morning, half hour in the middle of the day (optional i just like to make sure beast has food available, they eat most at dawn and dusk) and 2 hours in the evening, anything left over is put in a bag and depending on how much is left i either throw it in the fridge for the next time hes due for that meat or throw it in the freezer i havent had any actual complications with refreezing meat.

THe feeding shecdule looks great so far, though you only have quail and chicken on it to have enough variety you need atleast 3 different animals, i find duck and pork are favorites of beast(it may be different for you) and when i say duck and pork i'm talking about for meat not whole prey beast thinks whole prey is oodles and oodles better than anything else. which is why he gets a lot of it =) cause i know he likes it, i feed all different aged mice and rats, i'm thinking about trying dwarf hampsters (but since they are rather expensive i'd probably breed them and i just havent had the energy to start up any more rodent colonies after beasts massacre of my mouse colony.

Alright, that's good to know on the re-freezing with the meat. He doesn't leave all that much behind though, So, I'll probably use leftovers in these recipes I've found in the 'Ferrets for Dummies' book. They sound yummy.. for him, that is. ;3 Well, I do have beef on there, I'll check around the meat section of my store and see what they have, I'm pretty sure they have pork, and it'd be nice to get duck. Well, I'll check out what they have. x3 Aw, Yeah, I would feed Stewart mice that were already dead; I'm trying to figure out if my petstore carries them frozen. I really don't think so, ya know, I don't think they're that kind of petstore. They're very basic. Then again I still haven't found out, I might be in for a surprise. But I seriously doubt it, Hahh, They do, however, have feeder mice, but they are living and I know for a fact I could not kill them or let Colbert kill them. >o<
I do want to try to give him some whole prey though, I just don't know how to go about doing that. Ha. So, It's probably not very realistic right now.

Alright, right now I'm going to feed Stewart, well, the only thing that's left from this chicken we bought, a bunch of giblets, I'm going to give him, I'm thinking liver. And, Later on we're going to the store to buy more meat and we'll get different kinds of animals and such. :3 Okay, so hopefully everything will be fine with the organs.. But they are prettty small. How many (which kinds) do I feed? With small organs do I have to feed them all?
I'm feeding him the liver right now, I cut it in half and he's eating it. Thanks. :]

Any organ you can get, feed it. you only want about 1 liver on an organ day though to prevent an excess of vitamin A. Lemme know how he takes to it, wow we're doing good! *claps* you're well on your way, once we get a constant feeding schedule with some variety you'll be well on your way to being a raw feeder =D

Awesome! Well, he ate the whole thing, mostly, he always leaves a little behind, but he's just not a real big hound I suppose. ;3 Ha, x3 So, I do feed him the other organs today? I have the heart, the other half of the liver and the neck. What do I do on organ day? Do I just feed him all the organs I have? Like.. Liver now and later he gets the neck? I don't know, really what to do now so tell me what you do on your organ day.

I dont like dealing with the organs so i do whole prey two times a week. but when i did organs i did gizzards liver hearts and such in a mix (beast is spoiled so i usually cut it up in to smaller bits about the sixe of half of my middle finger so about an inch and a half.) and give him the wings that day so he can have some bone to keep his poopies from gettin super loose....... also something else thats great that beast adores is i take a raw egg and poke a hole in it and give it to beast in a bowl =) its great =)

Oh yeah, The egg thing I did with Stewart just yesterday, he licked it up a bit, but I don't think he was even hungry in the first place so, Ha. x3 He doesn't know that he can eat the shell yet though, :] Oh yeah, wish I had some wings to give him, his poos are a bit runny. Eek, I'll remember that next time around. Alright, so I understand, it's all good. :3 I'm buying meats and getting a schedule up, I'll probably end up changing it after so many weeks depending on him. x3 Today I took Mister Colbert outside and he was a' diggin' in the dirt under the deck, Haha, He loves to dig, and dirt is waaay better for him to dig up then the carpet. It's so cute watching him, he gets all dirty, Hahh. x3 He'll be helping us plants flowers this spring, ; D Lol. Congrats on your baby Bastien! Whatta' cutie. x3 Should be easy getting him on raw since he's so young, right. :3

thank you for the congrats on bastien, hes eating with beast already so hes good. but omg beast has always been lean and looked underweight no matter HOW much i feed him but he has buckets of energy and suuuuuuuch and he eats all the time and is healthy other than looking lean and omg Bastien is such a porky looking devil beast never looked porky even as a kit and bastien is a lil porker. but he took to raw like a champ. and he and beast are the best of friends now beast tried to stash his new "toy" last night hahaha.. it was cute. Anyways the boys had a farm fresh organic egg today (my neighbor has organically fed chickens and gave me some eggs) Beast never eats the shell either just playz with it.

Hahaa, How cute! Slim and Chunky, Awwh. Awesome! They sound like just a bundle of mishievious fun! ; D Awesome, that's great. Yeah, We also have a friend (actually the same person who gave me my Dear Stewart) who has Hens and we're planning on getting some fresh eggs from her. :3
Okay, so at the store today I bought some meat. The only thing is I couldn't get Quail or Duck, they only come out thanksgiving and Yah, that's really far away, but I'll keep a look out anyway. When that time of the year does come around I'll stock up. ; D
Anyway, This is what I did end up getting: 2 Cornish game hens, A young chicken, Pork neck bones, a tray of Chicken Gizards and hearts, (Never in my life did I think I would be so excited in finding this, xD I was like OMG Look! It was like the coolest thing to me because I didn't know stores held things like that. I only got one tray because it was the last one there, but I'll probably end up getting more when they stock up :] ) And I got a can of Tuna in water, which is for this Tuna Shake I'm going to treat him with one of these days, I don't what would be a good day, or if it matters, which. x3 The recipe sounds like he'll like it though. :3
So with the new stuff I got, How should I change up the meal plan? Especially with those Pork neck bones being put in. I'm going to freeze the meat in his feeding portions and see how long all this stuff will hold him for, so I can get a pretty good schedule down and everything. x3

Alright, that'll be hard until I get more creatures, but I'll keep that in mind. x3
Here is a 3 week meal plan, the food will go on farther.. only the giblets and the pork neck, but I'll have to buy two more chickens to go on for two more weeks. When I get the other meats it'll last waaay longer and be a better menu for him. :x3
Anyway, here is the 3 week meals:
The plan is to give Stewart 1 of the following in the morning and one at night, but it will all depend on the size and how much he eats of it, if I cut it in half and give him one a day. :]
1st Week: Mon. - Chicken legs. Tues. - Chicken Giblets/hearts and a Wing. Wed. - Pork neck. Thurs. - Chicken breast, along with a Tuna Shake in the middle of the day. Fri. - Chicken Thigh. Sat. - Giblets/hearts and a Wing. Sun. - Chicken Legs.
2nd Week: Mon. - Pork neck. Tues. - Chicken Giblets/hearts and Wing. Wed. - Chicken Thigh. Thurs. - Chicken Breast. Fri. - Chicken Leg. Sat. - Chicken Giblets/hearts and Wing. Sun. - Pork Neck.
3rd Week: This is when the Young Chicken/Cornish hen starts to run out, So there are three days of Pork neck, might make up for all the chicken though. Mon. - Chicken Thigh. Tues. - Pork Neck. Wed. - Chicken Giblets/hearts and Wing. Thurs. - Chicken Breast. Fri. - Pork Neck. Sat. - Chicken Giblets/hearts and Wing Sun. - Pork neck.
I know there's alot of chicken, it'll start looking better when I get my hands on different kinds of meat. And I will be getting a tub of liver at the store, for the Giblet days, 'cause of course he needs that. While we're out I'll check out other stores to see if they carry any other meats, It's worth a shot. I'm also planing to make that Tuna Shake for him once a week if he even likes it, I'll test it out on Thursday. :3
Alright, so I hope this Menu is all fine and dandy, I mean for now, anyway. x3
