I'm on my way to thestore right now to go get some. We thought we had found a home for Chewie so were busy talking to her and emailing her, but I haven't heard from her in 3 days. Arg!

Success!!! Chewie of course dug in! Oliver was sorta wary of the pork, but came over and stole Chewie's piece (cause it's so much better than his), so chewie got Oliver's piece. Yay!! It may take Oliver a while to eat all of his piece, but at least he ate some! And chewie the pig ate all of his plus some of Oliver's!

I''m not sure. I tried asking her, but she just talked about his adrenal. Plus I haven't heard from her in 3 days.

Let us know what happens with his possible home.
It's great that they are eating the pork!

Now that you've completed the switch, have had your feeding schedule reviewd, and been advised to check out NaturalFerrets, its time to retire this thread to the "newbie switch archive"! As you know, no one (yourself included) will be able to post in this thread anymore once its been moved to the archive. Since you are in the process of trying to rehome Chewie, we'd REALLY appreciate it if he goes to a raw feeding home, that you tell the new owners to check in with Holistic Ferret. If Chewie's new owners come to Holistic Ferret, we (your mentor and I) will run a detailed "check up" on Chewie (by contacting his new owners via email or PM) at the 3 month, 6 month, 9 month, and 1 year anniversary since "going natural" just to make sure all is going well and that they arent having any issues feeding Chewie his natural diet. They would post all updates and/or questions on Chewie's diet on THIS thread (we would unlock it for them so they could post). I understand if Chewie can not go to a natural feeding home, but PLEASE do try to get him into a natural home that is willing to come to HF to let us know how Chewie is doing.

Alright here it is!! 6 Months Since the Switch- EVALUATION #2: 1. Its been six months since you and your ferrets graduated from the Holistic Ferret Mentor Program. Are you still feeding a kibble-free, natural diet? If yes, why? If no, why?I am still feeding a kibble free diet, because I have seen all the health benefits it offers. My ferrets love it and probably wouldn't eat kibble now anyways . 2. Have you filled out the "Natural Diet Survey"? (If not, please do by going to the following link: holisticferret.proboards80.com/in....play&thread=241)I believe I have, but the link's not working right now. 3. Please post a "sample weekly feeding schedule". Basically, give us an idea of what you feed your ferret(s) each week. This way we can review it (again) and let you know if you need to make any changes to ensure proper nutrition. Post your schedule in the following format:MONDAY: Chicken Legs TUESDAY: Chicken Wings WEDNESDAY: Chicken Legs THURSDAY: Chicken Wings FRIDAY: Boneless Pork SATURDAY: Ground Turkey SUNDAY: Chicken liver and/or pork liver They also recieve beef/steak as a treat every once in a while. 4. Do you have any questions or concearns regarding your ferret(s) diet? Not at the moment! 5. Do you have any new "diet goals" for your ferrets that you would like us to help you with, such as: adding whole prey to the diet, diversifying the types of meat fed, or incorporating freeze-dried or commercial raw foods? If so, please specify.Right now they're doing great! Soon I'm hoping to add some commercial raw foods to their diet, but that may not be for a while. 6. How was your experience with the Holistic Ferret Mentor Program? What did you like about the program? What didn't you like? What can we do to make our program better? My experience was great! I like having someone there to help and suggest different things to try while switching Chewie. The one thing I would change is to have the mentor at the computer all day, lol ! 7. After switching to a natural diet I'm sure you noticed numerable changes immediately. After six months of feeding naturally, what would you say is the most notable improvement in your ferret's health?Oh gosh this is hard with Chewie! I think the most noteable change in Chewie was his energy level! It went from (1-10) being like a 3 to an 8!! That's pretty good for an old guy ! 8. Since its been six months since you graduated from the HF Mentor Program, you are now eligable to become a Holistic Ferret Mentor. Do you have any interest in becoming a mentor? There is NO obligation. If interested, please read the following info to see if you are capable of making such a commitment to being a mentor:Yep! Very interested! And I'm a mentor in training already!
