Thats really good that they are now eating chicken AND beef. Keep up the beef (try different cuts, take advantage of sales ) and when you are ready add in 1 more type of meat and you'll meet the requirements to graduate Wait a minute, how is Whisp doing? Any progress?

One more meat, or one more meat type? I picked up necks (beef) at the store today for my yorkies, so I guess I could give them a taste of that for a change.
Whisp is my "special" child. If she is eating anything, it is under my radar. She is sneaky, but I can't say for sure at this moment if she is. She does readily eat the soupie, though. I need to weigh them this weekend for their monthly weigh in and make sure none of them are losing any weight. I will let you know if I notice her sneaking a taste or two.

You are *this* close. No worries. Most ferrets readily accept new meats because they learn to crave variety. I'd try pork, its cheap and its a good source of fat and protein. You can try turkey too, but its a bit low in fat for a ferret diet, and it can usually run a tad more expensive then chicken.

It is on my shopping list. My husband will be jealous. The ferrets and dogs eat better than we do!

Yeah same here. I eat mac-n-cheese and chicken stuffing and my ferrets get mice, quail, organic beef, lamb, and the like.

I would consider stealing my ferrets food, but honestly beef necks sound as appetizing as they look. Also, I found some of their stashed meats, and green isn't a good color for the food I want to eat!

Two steps forward...one step back. Today they wouldn't touch beef at all. They are on a beef strike. Chicken is still good, but beef is not on the menu. This dance is getting a little old. Even our dogs are raw fed completely at this point.

Even our dogs are raw fed completely at this point. Dogs usually are a joke to switch (the are NOTHING compared to cats and ferrets). Hang in there. With such a large business it can be touch. If you find there is a "beef strike" again, try mixing chunks of beef with a *few* TINY chunks of chicken. They might just take to the beef.

Jaycee, you have had a bunch that gave you headache after headache but you have hung in there. I feed beef too and had to mix it with chicken for them to start eating it and they still do not perfer it over anything else that they get feed.
