It looks good to me
I wanted you to have final review of it first though.
Okey doeky, lets do this thingy!!!
Yay! Time to graduate!!!!!
Now there is one last thing I want you to do (and then I am moving this thread to the "newbie switch archive":
If you havent already, it might be a good idea to start popping in toNaturalFerrets. I know forum is small right now, but that is because they are switching to the new forum from a yahoo! group. There are many many senior raw feeders on there and it would be wise to make use of their knowledge. I try and advise all my "completed switchers" to get on there and post a bit. I still want you to say on HF, but I want you to "broaden your horizons" by getting a bit of NaturalFerret's info as well. Sound good?
www.NaturalFerrets.comYou'll probably run in to the Holistic Ferret Mentors on there. This is where THEY go to ask THEIR questions on natural diet (I do too).
Let me know if you get any good info out of here.
and.......
Now that you've completed the switch, have had your feeding schedule reviewd, and been advised to check out NaturalFerrets, its time to retire this thread to the "newbie switch archive"!
No one (yourself included) will be able to post in this thread anymore once its been moved to the archive. Please begin posting your diet-related questions in the "whole prey" "raw" or "general feeding questions and discussion" area. We encourage EVERYONE that is archived to continue posting. Feeding a natural diet is a learning PROCESS, there is much to learn after making the switch.
We (your mentor and I) will run a detailed "check up" with you (via PM or email) at the 3 month, 6 month, 9 month, and 1 year anniversary since "going natural" just to make sure all is going well and that you arent having any issues.
Also, if you wind up getting a new addition any time in the future, just start a new thread in the "natural diet newbies" section if you need assistance.
Now, I know you have expressed interest in being a HF mentor. If you are serious about mentoring then what we will do is this:
In order to be a HF mentor you need atleast 6 months of raw feeding experience.
For the next 3 months you will be an official "Holistic Ferret Mentor In Training". Your job is to greet all new members on the forum. Just pop in, say high, and point them towards the natural feeding areas of the forum by copy/pasting these links into your "welcome post" (only do so if the links have not yet been posted):
---------------------------
If you are experienced with natural diet/care for ferrets, feel free to jump into the various sections of the forum and offer insight/advice to our newbies, or ask questions of your own.
If you are new to natural diet/care for ferrets, use the following links to navagate the site:
Post all questions about natural ferret diet here:
holisticferret.proboards80.com/index.cgi?board=newbquestWhen you are ready to make the switch to a natural diet, fill out one of these forms:
holisticferret.proboards80.com/index.cgi?board=newbie&action=display&thread=822and start a thread in this section (copy/paste the filled out form into your first post):
holisticferret.proboards80.com/index.cgi?board=newbiePost all questions/updates on the progress of your ferret's diet switch in that one thread. After making your initial post we will help you start the switch and we will assign you a "Holistic Ferret Mentor" to assist you and monitor your progress.
------------------------------------------
The other thing you'll be doing for the next 3 months (until your first "follow up check in") is monitoring the "Newbie Questions" area of the nutrition forum. Each time you log into HF, check that sub-forum and answer any newbie questions that are on there. If you don't know the answer to a question, PM me or one of the other HF mentors for info so that you can post a detailed, accurate answer.
After 3 months of welcoming newbies, and answering the newbie questions, you will begin to 'shadow' Jasmine, your former mentor. Here is how this will work. Jasmine will have her newbies that she's mentoring on her own, but there will be a few newbies that you and Jas will mentor TOGETHER. Basically YOU will do the mentoring, but Jas will be with you in the thread to check up on you, make sure you are answering questions correctly, and she will be there to help mentor you on how to mentor
After 3 months of doing this (so after your 6 month check in) you will officially become a bonafide "Holistic Ferret Mentor" and you will be assigned newbies to mentor all by yourself.
Sound good?
