Its crazy isnt it? You really realize the difference diet makes when you see the kits that were raised on raw (or whole prey).

I know the differece between Riely,Crash, Odin and Hydra and the rest of them are amazing, not to mention the difference between Crash , Riely and Hydra ,Odin who are from raw feed parents.

Sassy is really going to town with the raw diet. She is now eating bone too. Most all of mine are switched....except Jax, Piper, Angel and Whisp. They are mainly on soupie. I was really excited about Sassy's progress, though!

Excellent! Now just to clarify I consider being "totally switched" when they are eating meat/bone/organ and atleast 3 different meats. Is your crew doing all those things? If so I'm so excited I could pee my pants!
Anymore "hunger strikes"?

Well...not totally totally switched. I haven't yet tried other meats, but different parts of the chicken. And, I have to grind the organ meat up to get them to eat it. So...to clarify...I am partially totally switched!

Today, all is going well. At least, from what I can tell. I feel like with my new job I am never at home anymore. But, all my meat eaters (chicken only, Giuli...don't wet yet) are eating bone, and will eat the organ meat if ground up and mixed with duk soup mix. Picky eaters! Piper was actually gnawing on meat last night before I went to bed, so at least she is trying it. I am not too sure if Angel or Whisp will ever completely switch. They are next to impossible!

But, all my meat eaters (chicken only, Giuli...don't wet yet) I must say I had a good hard laugh at this one That is great news about your babies! As for your stubborn ones, I'm sure we can get them switched. In fact, if needed once we get all of your other kiddos eating a variety of meats (the last step and then they are all done switching!!!) I can transfer you from Jasmine over to Jennifer (mustelidmusk) who specializes in REAAALLLLLYYYYY stubborn ferrets. If there is anyone that can switch a stubborn fert, its her (and she helps you keep your sanity in the process). Jasmine has done a kick a** job mentoring you. I'm thrilled you've come this far! But I think we might need to call in the specialist for angel and whisp only time will tell. Either way, we've got ya covered. Work with your meat eaters on adding in some variety. Beef and Pork are favorites in my house If you haven't tried cornish game hen yet, give that a whirl too (my guys love it! Most ferrets do too). We are almost there! The day I switch your thread to the "newbie switch archive" will be a very happy/proud day indeed! Look how far you (and they, of course ) have come!!!

So....you're trying to rehome me? This must be what it feels like! Anywho...Whisp is loving her soupie. She is even starting to steal the larger chunks of chicken out of the soupie mix. Part of me thinks she is playing me for a fool. The rest of me knows it! Jax...I caught her licking a wing the other day. So, there might be hope yet for her. Everyone else is doing very well with the raw chicken...even playing tug of war with it. Ferrets aren't very friendly with eachother when it comes down to food!

im not trying to rehome you Mine dont get along either when it comes to food, you can always tell when they have just gotton fresh food in my house, cause thats when you hear all the screaming and yelling from the cage. Have you thought about what you are going to try next with them?

Ferrets aren't very friendly with eachother when it comes down to food! That will change once they've been on the diet for a while. Think of it this way: Imagine you had a crappy car all your life. Then one day, you got a freaking SWEET luxury car. You'd be pretty protective of it for a while, right? Its the same with the ferts and the raw. They are finally eating really good food (and they are finally realizing that its yummy lol) so they are protective. They'll soon realize there is enough to go around and they should bicker less. I still will have occasional squabbles but no where near as much as when the boys first switched. I'm happy to hear that the difficult kiddos are opening up to raw (even just a little). If they switch then you'll stick with Jas until you graduate, but if they proved to be real stinkers I was going to bring in mustelidmusk. She is the master of tricking ferts into eating raw. Very patient woman lol.

Guesswhatguesswhatguesswhatguesswhat!!!!!!!!!!!! I have wonderful, and unexpected news! Buzz, you might have to keep me (I wasn't saying you were rehoming me...but Giuli sure was!) In any case, I saw one of my sable girls in the feeding den today, and I thought "could it be?" This girl was going to town on the raw and bone. I could hear the crunching from across the room. So I sat, patiently waiting to see for sure who it was in the feeding den. And, when she finally emerged, who should it be? Angel!!! Angel is eating raw....and bone!!! I wondered if they were pulling one on me, and I guess I wondered correctly. She came out of the den and looked up at me like "What, mom? What'd I do???" Adam has just informed me too, that he sees Jax eating meat all the time. I am not at home as much anymore, so I don't see everything that goes on anymore. So...by my calculations that is 90% of my buisness that is eating raw...Whisp is my only hold out. I am going to stick with the chicken for a little while longer, then I have some beef chunks in the freezer I am going to thaw out for them and try that! I am so excited!!!!
