Yeah, he had that bone in his mouth running across the house with it like a dog! He loves eating bone too! He has been one of the easiest in my bunch to switch over.

My husband went out shopping today and restocked us on organ meat. I didn't do it right the first time. I thew everything in the freezer, but then when I needed the meat it was all froze together in a meaty slab. I would have to thaw it, get what I needed and then refreeze. Needless to say, after doing this routine once, I threw the old meat out and have replaced it with new. I have meat paper that I wrapped weekly portions of organ meat (liver, hearts, gizzards) and froze them in individual packets. Tomorrow will be organ meat day. We will see how this goes!

Ok, so I have a problem. No one is eating the organ meat. Is there something I should be doing to help them get aquainted with it? Do I need to cut it up, blend it....I am really at a loss. And....they aren't even eating the chicken that is next to the organs either. Another hunger strike!

Ummm... do you give yours egg by itself yet?? Blending the egg and organ meat worked for me.
What organs are you feeding???
Maybe if you play a little bit of tug of war with them with the organ meat that might help.
Im not sure let me ask around and see if i can come up with something for you.

Thanks. I need all the help I can get! I am feeding them livers, hearts....gizzards. And no body touched them. I thought livers were ferret favorites.

I thought livers were ferret favorites. Its kind of a love it or leave it thing. some ferrets (like mine) go ga-ga over liver and other ferret's like amyandfuzzys7's wont touch it with a 10 foot pole

So, are you saying to actually blend the organ meat and egg together, or to just coat the organ meat with the egg?

Mmmmmm....sounds yummy! Can't wait to make this on the next organ night. Tonight I have to re make my blended chicken kibble casserole for my finicky ferrets. Which reminds me, I need to go soak the kibble before I break a blender blade. Thanks for the help!

Nothing much new here. I am hardly at home anymore since starting my new job this week. I'm still not on a good schedule, but I am working on it. Whisp and Angel are still eating the chicken mixture if I spoon feed them. Everyone else will eat either the mixture, or the chicken.

Just checking in. Everyone is doing fine here. Many of mine are eating more of the soupie, and less kibble. The meat eaters are doing well....in fact our kit is very solid in comparison to our other ferrets. It is amazing the difference diet makes. I wish all of mine could have been switched to raw at an eariler age. I can only imagine what they would be like now...
