i'll be honest i never saw any of mine eatting the littler. but now im wondering if maybe Fatty didnt when we werent looking?? Fatty was our stubborn one. He would go days without eating if it meant that he didnt get kibble. We actually tried switching him 3 or 4 sep times before he acceped anything but kibble as food. He was also stuck on the soupie stage for a long time. I feel that if he switched any ferret can!! You are doing a great job and you seem to have enough patience to deal with 8 ferrets switching at once. I would say as far as your litter eater do what Giuli did since i do not have a refernce point for you.

Yeah, if a ferret is trying to eat litter (or crunchy crumbs of god knows what off the kitchen floor----like De did) then she probably isnt eating as much as you think. Just moniter her. Try and deter her from eating the litter (its definitly not good for her). I kept tweaking De's soup until she would scarf it down. But as soon as I "got it right" she stopped touching the litter.
Could it be possible that the other 8 ferrets are eating the soup so fast that Sassy isnt getting a chance to eat her fill?

Those little monkies can sure be a pain in the bum! It think the paper towl idea is good for now. Sorry they are giving you so much grief with this switch! You are SUCH a trooper for hanging in there. Once your guys are fully converted, you will be able to help SO many people out! I know it sucks to be hitting all these "speed bumps" now, BUT you are gaining valuable experience that you might be able to use to help a fellow newbie out. Try and stay positive! The benefits and the end result are VERY well worth it! We're rooting for you!

........I'm mad. Can't you tell! First, the good news. Harley is eating small chunks of chicken, and took a bite of liver! Yay! But. My husband put a big bowl of kibble in the upper level of my ferret nation 143. And...since I am not 7 foot tall, I didn't realize this until just now. I swear I am going to have to put the kibble behind lock and key! I fear I may be starting over again with sassy and possibly 'topher as they were the ones I found eating it. .......yeah...I'm mad.

Well that could explain why they werent eating that much soup Man oh man! What are we going to do with that hubby of yours! Feed him to the ferrets perhaps? Hang in there! Get that kibble outta there and see if that makes any improvements. You are one of the most patient switchers I've ever helped! You've gone through hell with this switch but you keep going, I am honestly VERY proud of your dedication to your babies!

Man oh man! What are we going to do with that hubby of yours! Feed him to the ferrets perhaps? You know, I would say YES to this, except my guys haven't progressed to the "eating annoying things" stage! As far a patience goes, I knew this would be a challenge for me from step one. I think going into this knowing it may take a while is the way to be, other wise it is easy to get frustrated. I am ok with taking things slow. The way I see it, even if they are only on the soupie stage, it has to be better than just straight kibble. That, to me, is alread a win!

By the way. I had to spoon feed Sassy last night to get her off of her "hunger strike". This is my husbands doing. I am going to be hiding the kibble container this morning. No damage can be done if he can't find the kibble. Plus! He is sort of (not lazy, but...without great motivation). If he can't find it in the first 10 sec of his search, then it doesn't get found!

Not a problem. I had computer problems the other day myself...ferret related, of course! By the way...it seems my hiding of the kibble might have worked. No kibble in the cage!

There's a reason people call it K*bble or crap-in-a-bag.
There is a feature on the forum that allows me to "censor words' so like if you type in a bad word, it automatically types in a replacement word. I was going to make it say K*bble whenever someone typed Kibble, but I thought that probably wouldnt be appropriate. I personally despise kibble, but I do know some members on here feed it (for various reasons) and I thought it wouldnt be right to do that to them.
