Yep. Everyone has eaten at least 1 meal. If I dont see them eat all day I hand feed them a meal just to make sure they eat.

They all ate a good amount on their own today so I did not hand feed them.

Rena didnt eat much today so I hand fed her but she still didnt eat much. Risa took some chunks from me and ate some of them but hid the rest. Rikku is still eating a lot.

Risa and Rena have not been eating out of the bowl and its probably because I made the mistake of making their soup with quail instead of chicken so they are not used to it but Rikku loves it. I have just been hand feeding Rena and Risa.

Are you worried that they're not getting enough nutrition?

I am worried a little. They have not been losing weight but shouldnt they be gaining? How much should they be eating? When I hand feed Rena she will only eat a half of a cube but I think she might be eating when Im not around unless the other 2 are eating a lot. They eat about 5-6 cubes of soup a day.

As a generality, girls eat about 2 ounces a day and boys might eat 3-4 ounces. Have you ever weighed a cube to see how much it is?

Frozen the cubes weigh around 1 ounce.

Can you make a small batch of soup the way you used to? Maybe they would get interested again. Then you could start adding some of the chunkier soup little by little.

I made soup yesterday with chicken and thats how they like the soup. Once the old stuff is gone, I think there is only one more meal, I will feed them the chicken stuff.

Grr, they are not eating it again. I think they have to get used to it and I need to make sure I make it the same way every time.

Yeah. They can be unbelievably picky and stubborn. Stay the course until they are eating adequate amounts. Then we can start sneaking in some other stuff.
Don't let that hold up Rikku's progress though. If he's willing to eat anything you put in front of him... do it! Sometimes curiosity and competition will jumpstart the willingness of the reluctant ferrets to try something new. Try giving him some 1/2-1 inch chunks of meat and see what he thinks.

Try playing tug of war with him. If he doesn't eat them right now that's fine, but I don't want to hold up his progress while the girls are figuring things out.
