I tried paying tug of war, he didnt want to play so I just stuck some meat in his nouth and he started to chew on it. He hasnt eaten any of it but I will leave it in the cage and see if he goes back to it.

That's good. He may get curious about it and drag it around.
Are you leaving food available all the time or no?

He didnt eat the peice of chicken. They always have food available. Rena had been eating a little out of the bowl again and I have seen Risa and Rikku eating.

They have been eating less soup lately. Rikku has gained weight, Risa lost .4oz and Rena lost .6oz. I hand fed Risa and Rena but they didnt seem very hungry.

Are you back to making the soup the way you used to?

Would you feel comfortable taking away the food overnight and letting them get hungry? A hungry ferret is a culinarily adventurous ferret. What do you think?

Okay. If the girls are still not eating enough after two nights of withholding food we'll have to take a step backwards to make sure they're getting enough calories.

I removed the food at 9:30 last night and gave them back the food at 12:00 pm today and between all 3 of them they only ate 1 cube of soup.

Did they eat at the evening meal?
What do you think they're upset about? Do you think they miss the kibble? Could something have gone bad in the soup?

I have no idea. They were eating a lot of it when I put chicken, beef, pork, egg, liver, gizzard and olive oil and all I did was change it by adding quail instead of chicken and they lost intrest. The last batch I made was with chicken but they still have no intrest. I have not made it any thicker either. They did not eat an evening meal yesterday. I put more soup in the cage and they didnt eat it. Today, between the 3 of them, they ate almost 2 cubes of soup. I will put fresh stuff in there a little later if they dont eat the rest of whats in there now.

Yeah I think you should keep a supply of what you know they will eat always at the ready. My suggestion would be to instead of making whole batches of soup differently, use the soup you know they like and add things to that. Let's give them a couple of days of eating what they like before we try something new. They're testing you. We're going to have to be sneaky.
