Hi, I have recently (about 2 weeks ago) adopted Lilo and Stitch from a couple that unfortunately were having trouble finding the time to take care of them because of their growing family (1 yr old and babe on the way). I couldn't resist! They are currently on the Marshall Farms Kibble and I really would like to get them on the raw diet after reading about it and IMO it seems to be a healthier choice. Sooo, that brings me here from Everything Ferret Forum. The ferts are approx. 4 years old and I will be asking and reading lots and lots. Nice to meet you all in advance and looking forward to this transition from kibble to a much healthier and hopefully long life for the new members of my family. I will post pics up later today.

Hi and welcome to you and to Lilo and Stitch Please feel free to prowl around, read threads, post questions and get involved (this is one of the better ways of learning the in's and out's of raw feeding) Everone is friendly and there's tons of information that is just there for the asking....so ask away Your little ones are older but that won't really make much of a difference. Myself and others have switched much older, it just takes patience and being more stubborn that your ferrets . I hope that I will be seeing you around and hearing about your little ones new adventures. ciao

Hi and welcome, every one (though I won't say every one, but I haven't seen my own nose lately) is friendly and happy hear! And its also a very humane forum, pune intended, though I actual planed on saying that a week and a half ago. Do your beautiful ferrets like being petted?

Stitch, he LOVES to be petted and pampered, Lilo, not so much. She just follows me around everywhere being nosy, acts like she wants to be petted but won't sit still but for a second. I will definitely post more pics as I go along. They are the perfect picture candidates. Thanks everyone for the welcome!

Got a good pic of Lilo finally, I caught her rolling around on one of the chairs from outside. She doesn't hold still very long to get any great pictures but I like this one. Attachments:

She's adorable! Mine love to simply roll around at times as well. They always look so cute when the stop mid roll and look up at you.

Thanks Sherrylynne. She is adorable 99% of the time. She isn't taking this switch too well, very, very, finicky and doesn't want to go in the litter boxes now either. Stitch doesn't seem to be having a problem with it I'm hoping he will show her it's not all that bad.

You know, I've had more little girls who didn't take to the switch than little furboys. Most of my little sprites are very territorial so that may be the problem. They're the first ones to start marking or missing the litter box when a new fert comes in and the newbies seem to loose whatever litter training they had. ciao

I put this on my switching thread but didn't want it to change topic so, here it is. Lucy managed to get out the front door unnoticed on Sunday and I haven't seen her since. I know some outcomes have turned out with them returning, I'm trying to be hopeful but i live in town and i don't think between cars and dogs or people thinking they are rats is a good combination. I have posted on craiglist, the local animal shelter and will check the local vets tomorrow after it was suggested. Everyone in my complex knows along with someone that spotted her in the early morning hours around the time that i was still looking for her.... It is raining now so i hope she is dry and safe for the night.

Thanks Heather, looking through craigslist too there were 2 in one day besides mine. I feel really bad too since I did adopt them to take care of them and let her slip out the door. Maybe if i stop looking out the window every five minutes she might just show up one day. Stitch seems to be doing okay, he has always been mellow except when playing with her so it is really hard to tell if he is missing her or not.
