Well, still no luck finding Lucy Stitch does seem a little down. He lays in the middle of the room like he used to when i first got him. I look through craigslist lost and found and pets a few times a day and came across a 1 1/2 year old male that is in need of a home. Going to see a pic of him today and decide if we should bring him home so Stitch won't be alone. I'm not really ready for another but Stitch shouldn't have to be alone after having a playmate most of is life. I'm sure it will cheer me up some too.

Perhaps, this little one is meant to be. Keep a close eye on Stitch, a ferret can mourn their lost partners and will follow them to the bridge. Do you have any rescue remedy? This will also help with the integration process if you choose to help Stitch find a new friend. ciao

I am not sure what you mean by rescue remedy.... We did however find him a friend. A teenager had posted a 1 1/2 year old male so we went and got him today, his name is Rufus and I am glad we decided to get him because he came with a cage, towel, harness, leash, bowl of cat food and a litter pan with some cat litter in it. (obviously he shared with the cat) seemed to be a common teenager that got a pet and tired of it after a while. I put the cage next to Stitches and let them know each other was there for a while and then we let Rufus out to wander around, then let Stitch out. It went good for about 5 minutes then they got really rough with each other making a lot of noises that didn't sound like play so we split them up. They did that about 3 times and then were fine, wandered around a bit more and both went to sleep together in the bedroom cage. I gave away the remaing kibble I had so I am thinking about just changing him over cold turkey. But I will save that for another thread. Here he is: Attachments:

Cute. You should have really done isolation for 2 weeks but what the hey, it's done I'm glad that the little fuzzbutts are getting along. Rescue remedy is a Bach Flower remedy that I use extensively. It's used for any stressful situation. Everything from separation anxiety to death of a furfriend (you can use it too )to a physical injury, to a journey to the vet. It's exactly what it says it is, an absolute must in a holistic first aid kit. ciao

I will look into getting some of that. I am going to go get some peppermint soap today as well so I might as well look for that too, I am still battling with a few fleas and Rufus has brought more with him. Stitch slept with me most of the night last night. I have a cage in my bedroom that he usually sleeps in if I don't put him up in the main cage at night. I kept waking up and he was snuggled up next to me almost all night long. Not sure if he was lonely or maybe he is a little freaked out about the new guy. Maybe a little of both. I gave him a little dab of ferrovite hoping to cheer him up a little. Felt like i was breaking my rules but thought it might make him feel a little better.

You do what you have to do when the little ones are down. You are aware that ferrets don't do well with essential oils right?....the peppermint soap? Any soap will kill fleas, it's just all the area cleaning that presents the problems. I usually just use soap and a flea comb. It takes longer than the chemical method but it's healthier in the long run. ciao

Yeah I figured that the oils they have already naturally was all they need. I have only bathed them twice since I have had them and it is, now that I really look at it, exactly what i probably shouldn't be using. Ferretsheen by 8 in 1 (has aloe vera and jojoba oil with cucumber melon scent) ughhh! The peppermint soap i was going to buy all natural, but if any soap will do then shouldn't it be all natural soap too? I need to buy a flea comb sounds like. Cleaning I have been putting baking soda on the floor letting it sit and vacuuming that up. And vinegar on the lino. Thank you hurricanekatt, that would be the best suprise ever!
