Well the weekend flew by before I even got a chance to think about soup! hopefully soon we can get on that. Last night I fed them ground turkey/organ/bone from hare today. They at only a little of it, meaning Jack and Rascal were probably the only ones that ate. And this morning, we fed them ground beef organs from hare-today and they didn't eat that either. So, tonight we're feeding steak cuts. 1) because its something I know they like (well 5 of them like) and 2) because i can see if munchkin (whos been eating well with chicken now, all but bone I think) will eat this

We can add the game meats later to the soup, first we have to make sure they like a simple soup concoction....start out with egg mix it with warm water, blend in some kidney and or liver (just a small amount at first) then add either a tsp of uncle jims duk soup mix or nupro (this adds the taste that they will hopefully love, I really havent met a ferret that didnt like these 2 mixes) Let me know how the soup goes.. Ohh yea you can add oil in too, either olive oil (about half a tsp) or if you have vivify thats a great oil thats animal based instead of plant based and its a touch better, but either will do

What about fish oil? The only edible things my guys have ever, ever had were kibble, raw, and ferretvite. Only a few love ferretvite. Never tried ferrettone, nupro, or anything else. They never took to treats. I thin they just like meaty things, really. I used to give Munchkin peanut butter to give her medicine wayyy back when she was a kit (thanks Petco), but other than that, I'm worried they won't take to anything else.
Jack, Rascal, Mickey, Jasmine would be most likely to try new things. They pretty much trust whatevers in their bowl to at least try, not necessarily like. Munchkin and Pooh Bear won't eat something that doesnt smell tasty, and therefore won't even try.
Raw egg? Cooked egg? shell too? Let me know what you try, I know theres dff ways to make it

Thats great! You can start with any mixture you want, and we can tweak it from there....I only suggest the nupro or duk soup mixes because they are a sort of supplement (they are used for soups and for sick ferrets) it has a certain taste that is very pleasing to ferrets so I add it into eveyrthing they dont want to eat and they eat it. But if they eat the soup without it thats great! (Nupro and duk soup have vitamins and minerals in them too which is nice, which is another reason I use it, but you dont have to....I actually use a couple supplements in their soups)

I mean you dont have to buy it, its just a suggestion of course....I just find its easier to feed things to them when this is mixed in (if they dont like it or if they're sick)
If you want to try the soup alone without it go ahead and see how they like it.....if they dont then the nupro or duk soup can help in this area

Hey, Sorry it's been so long! The babies have been boarded for a few days while I'm out of town. I haven't tried soup yet. I will try it out soon- I want to try the homemade way instead bc I think they will take to it a lot better. If you have a good recipe, let me know. Otherwise, just blend meats and liver?
Also, I hate to say it, but am I nearing the end of the program? I feel like I can get them to eat everything now.

Yea thats good, I usually just mix some liver, kidney and blend it up with some oil and water then I usually just add my supplements to it, ohh yea and sometimes I put in a whole egg You are almost ready to graduate, I was just waiting to see if you needed help with the soup, but if you think it will be easy for you then we can start getting ready for graduation! Start to work on a daily schedule, this will be submitted to Giuli for review and then she approves it from there. (you at least need 3 different meats, everyother day is a "bone in" day, and there needs to be an organ day) heres a rough example... Mon: beef, cut up chunks or patties Tues: chicken wings Wed: pork Thurs: Cornish game hen (with bone) Fri: duck or chicken necks Sat: organ day, liver, maybe some hearts, and maybe some kidney, soup Etc.... (I also add in treats, you dont have to but if they eat like dehydrated meat treats you can add this as well)

Okay, Here is what we've generally been feeeding:
Sunday: Liver mixed with ground meat (turkey or chicken) Monday: Chicken wings, thighs Tuesday: Pork Shoulder, boneless, cut up Wednesday: a whole cornish hen, chopped Thursday: Beef Heart Friday: Chicken thighs, split and quartered Saturday: Beef cuts, boneless
I also interchange things that I find at supermarket, like turkey tails, chicken gizzards/hearts, beef kidney, beef heart, and anything else I find.
