They ate all of the rat/soup mix.. everything but the tail (in two days). I even put the bowl in a big tub for them.. someone still snuck out the head (eww..).. Hubby said the rat is probably less unsanitary than them dragging raw meat around the room. They can both get in and out of the big tupperware by themselves, so that's good. They are back on beef chunks at the moment and I plan on going to the grocery store for more meat later this week.

Went to grocery store yesterday and got them lamb breast with bones (looks more like ribs when I cut them) and chicken gizzards. Weasel ate more of the lamb than Slinky, but I'm sure they eat more of it in a few hours. They both eat the turkey necks pretty good now.

K keep up the good work, but necks are a little too light on meat they are better for snacks than meals much like wings. thighs legs and breasts are good for meals, some people feed backs but i rarely get whole chickens and i just cut the breast downt the middle on CGH and give him halfback half breast. <33

How many different raw animals are you feeding per week? I'll usually rotate between two meats at a time, like chicken and beef, turkey and lamb. Then when they finish those, I buy two different kinds. I used to alternate meat types each day, but now am alternating between two meats each meal.

Well they are eating all raw now, the last step for you is the variety, have you noticed a difference in their fur? or their enerygy levels, i know the feces is a bit smaller i ahve a raw fed ferret =P

I usually circulate 2-3 meats each week. One rat or mouse a week if I have a couple dollars on hand. Slinky kills them quick. I keep getting the live prey slightly larger than before and he kills them just as fast, but then loses interest. I'll cut the prey and wave it around like a toy, but they don't care about it after they kill it, (so I always end up cutting it and making them a soup, which they'll eat). Last rat soup, they ate it all but the tail and an arm.
Poop-wise, their poops are smaller and black (more like tar). Coats are thick and soft. Slinky smells better than Weasel, but I think this is due to their cleaning habits. I'll see Slinky bathe himself for almost an hour.. Weasel doesn't do this, so he has a more obvious ferret smell. Slinky's white fur looks like it glistens (like snowflakes in sunlight), and Weasel's long fur is extremely soft.
Both of them are extremely active once I let them out of their room each day.. they RUN around the house nonstop, until they fall asleep behind the tv.

you need to feed more RMB if their poo is black and tarry. Im glad to hear that they are soft and shiney. Beast runs non stop too. when he runs ragged he passes out under my feet under my blanket in my bed. Its cute.

LOL. That's sweet. That's what my boys do sometimes. They make nice feet warmers Weasel will sometimes sleep wherever I put him (when I go to bed, I'll pick him up and lay him on my stomach). We sent in for samples from Ziwipeak and they send us about 6 little packets and a small zipper-pack. The food looks like dried jerky. The flavors were lamb and veal/fish. They'll both eat this as treats now, but I soak them in water because Slinky scarfs down food like a hog. I gave them chicken gizzards for breakfast. I'll probably get them another rat soon, but I am determined not to cut and soup it for them next time.
