oooh sound sdelicious beast ate TWO chicken legs for dinner yesterday Greedly lil butthead.
I am seeing a lot of chicken though, i know you do give them variety too but how do you do with organs and OTHER types of meat. i think you said so far you've done CGH pork chicken and beef correct?
Has there been anything else? Like.. maybe mice? orrr rabbit? quail? pheasant? ect ect. And maybe feed less chicken and try feeding turkey cgh chicken and pork in equal quantities and maybe get organs from an animal that isnt a chicken y'know?

We're STILL on the chicken (alternating meat and meaty bones). ( I know I need to get at least another type of meat in there). Money is hard right now, so that's part of it. Also, the pet store was closed for holiday last time we drove by. Next time I'll get two mice (one for each). I'll probably get them a little bigger since the boys kill them so fast. At least with Slinky I know the mice will get eaten. Yesterday I offered chicken liver and one of them dropped it in their potty; bet they did it on purpose and also bet it was Slinky- he did that his first day here and Weasel never puts his meat near his poop. He then pooped on top of it (I scooped it out and cleaned out the cage). About ferret behavior.. I know Beastie sometimes does things to drive you mad.. you are not alone. LOL. Both Slinky and Weasel are chewers.. forever obsessed with all things plastic and rubbery. Weasel has destroyed two computer mice (you know the rubber scroll? bit all the rubber off), and loves chewing on different kinds of plastic (the soft kind that bedsheets come in and the hard kind you have to cut with scissors to get the product out of). Slinky is just as bad. When they are free, I always have to watch for ps2 controllers, remote controls, my ipod, and cordless mouse.. Sorry I've been slow on posting. I've been working on my web portfolio for the past few days (for my graphic and web work): jenayala.tripod.com/Portfolio/index.htmlI'd love to hear your input if you check it out. Guess I'll make a soupy mix for them and cut in some liver; maybe it'll get eaten that way. Weasel would've eaten it if Slinky hadn't made a statement with it.. Hope you have a Merry Christmas. Our's should be good. Rocky (kiddo) will enjoy it.

P.S. Wow, Beastie's a piggy. How does he eat that much? haha. Yeah, they've had cgh, beef, pork, and mice.
I've asked a few local stores if they ever have meat/bone scraps I could have/buy for the ferrets. Most answers were 'no' and one said no because they could get in trouble if I gave the meat to my son. That's sad, but I guess there are some screwed up people out there, so businesses have to be careful. Reminds me of suds' incident when he wanted to order raw at the hotel.. Maybe it would've been different if I carried pictures of my fuzzies eating raw. I have plenty of those.. I may try craigslist for something like that. Maybe local hunters have part of the animal left that they won't feed their humans.. lots of deer hunting out here.

Bought some turkey necks and boneless beef ribs today, so we'll try to alternate meats each day. They finished off most of that soup I made them (there's still a little baggie in fridge). Went to the pet store today and they had little hoppers or rats. I think I need an in-between (a little bigger than what they already killed, but the rats may be too big of a challenge right now). They're supposed to call me when they get some adult mice in.

Lolz.. Oh! Guess it has been 4 days.. Sorry girlie ...
How often can I add an egg to their bowl? They don't like the turkey necks too much. They are eating the boneless beef ribs though (cut into 1" chunks). Yesterday was beef and an egg (ate all but the shell).
The pet store should be getting in some adult mice for me. All they had last time were hoppers (too easy) and rats (looked too big).
I'm wondering if there's anything I can do with the turkey necks to make them more appetizing? Maybe sprinkle on kibble or make a soup with the beef, necks, and egg?

They are eating the necks now. They fight over the last beef cube when they wait for me to get them more. Silly.. For a serving I'll give 2 turkey necks and about 4 beef cubes. I'll cut a chicken liver and mix with egg and a little kibble. Hopefully all of the liver (Slinky) will get eaten that way.

LOL. Hey, what about grease from burger meat and bacon? When browning meat, the oil you pour out of the pan? Some people put it in a jar for cooking later. What about adding to soupie mixes?

Bought the fuzzies a small rat today ($1.50- woot!) and Slinky killed it with a quickness. Then they lost interest, even though I quickly started moving the rat around by its tail and scruff. At least the boys are making me less afraid of touching mice/rats/dead critters.. anything for my fuzzbutts. hehe.
They didn't eat it, so I mixed an egg, 4 beef cubes, cut rat, kibble (the last of what Slinky had) and warm water. This time I'm keeping the bowl in a big tub so they can get out when they're finished. Weasel ate a good amount, I'm sure Slinky did too. I've noticed Slinky doesn't get smelly like Weasel (we bathe once a month, if that).. and Slinky's nails seem to grow longer/stronger. But then, Slinky is probably twice Weasel's weight and mass.
