Dingo's on meds. I got them for cheap at my local vet so he and monster both are receiving ulcer meds. Monster only once a day as he is almost done. Dingo's going to be on them for a long while. Kota didn't grind her teeth last night, so not sure what it was the other day. She also choose to sleep with dingo when it was out of the cage time. Good news about Dingo. I decided to let him out of the top cage yesterday to see if he was doing any better, and he explored a little before going to sleep in a pile of blankets. He seems to be more awake, but still not back to normal. I am about to go make a plate of soup for him. ^.^ Food wise- I gave the bottom kids a bowl of soup and chicken with bone. All the chicken went bye bye, but I have a feeling some of it is in the tunel.

I'm glad that Dingo appears to be doing a bit better. Let's hope if they did indeed do some major stashing that it all gets eaten anyway. Most of the time my guys do major stashing it gets eaten eventually, usually before I go looking for it . ciao

I still have not found the food. Maybe they ate it. Dingo is now allowed out of the top cage with everyone else durring out time. He still sleeps, but has played a little with bear. Bear is the bubble boy who is always playing. He plays on the leash. In the water. etc. I know it has been a while since my last post. I kind of has a down moment where I wasn't sure if I was doing the right thing. Bear's personality sold me though. If you could just spend 5 minuets in his presence you would fall for him as well. Food wise- My meat eaters are doing great. Lelloo, Jack, Monster, Ripply, and Pixie all eat peices of chicken. Ripply I have not forced to eat chicken. She is following everyone else's lead into the world of raw. I am gradualy getting bigger peices for them to eat. My recent success is that I started giving them chicken with rib bones in it. ( Breast peices choped up ) Last night I made pixie chew on part of the bone, and that was all it took for her to officialy fall in love with it. She finished the boney rib part in a good ten minits or so. She is making ALOT of progress in such little time compaired to everyone else.

I'm back. ^.^
Update-
Monster has insulinoma. Dingo's on more meds.
I also got creative and made a chalk board on my wall. It basically just list's everyone with a arrow showing how much they progressed. -------------------------------------------------------------------------
So..I want to switch monster completely but I am a little puzzled. If he needs food every couple hours or more, How do I organize that without pixie stashing it. They are out of their cage for a couple hours a day. I am also not home for hours at a time.
Could I feed him meals of meat, but he still has access to kibble (Purina naturals or Zupreme ) without a problem his protein being low?

My one suspected insulinoma has food (raw) available to her 24/7 and is hand fed at least once a day. The way that you feed you're going to have to leave Monster his kibble unless you have some other method of allowing him to get to food, whenever he needs it and it has to be guaranteed that he will eat it. If he goes too long without food, he will become nauseaus and stop eating and have an attack. That's really scary as you know. ciao

I work and go to school so I am not sure if that would be even possible. I may just have to go to the haft n haft way of feeding him.
Zupreme ( i'm a little obsessed about it because you can get big bags ) is it an okay brand if you mix it with something else? I need to switch to food that isn't over the top expensive even if it saves on vet bills.

Zupreem used to be a good food but that was years ago and to be honest, I don't know anything about kibbles any more. I believe that it's high in carbs and therefore not a good food for an insulinoma ferret. I would be trying to find a very high protein food with little to no plant material. Architypal comes to mind but it's very costly if I remember correctly. I bought some when it first came out. I never did feed it but gave it to a friend who was fostering for me. ciao

I guess I have to do my homework again. I've been feeding everyone soup twice a day, but havn't touched raw in a while. I'll try it out on everyone again tonight and see if my arrows will move any.

Ripply is eating mice!! ^.^ Small update. Pixie and lee fight over everything food.
Dingo loves peanut butter. Is it okay as an occasional treat to cover up a pill? I'm just happy to find something he likes. He also played so his improved diet and lupron is working.

It's the creamy kind and only a tad bit to make peace with the bugger. He realy does have temper tantrums. Lee and pixie love raw and mice. Lee and jack are my first guys to eat mice, monster next, Ripply is slow, and Pixie went from hate it one day, to love it the next. Pixie is the girl I had issues scruffing. She eats bone like a champ. I've been feeding off hoppers lately. Monster gets a whole hopper by himself, while the others chow down on as many as they will eat. Today I gave them a chicken neck. Swipper, who bites into meat and mice, but spits the peices out, took a few good chomps with the group. Pixie and Lee chewed on the bone. Ripply mostly licked the meat, but she acts too delicate to fight for her food. Monster acualy got into the meat while laying in his hammock. He didn't realy get much, but he broke peices of bone. I also gave monster a hopper. He ate the head, but didn't realy want anymore. Lee and Pixie fought over a mouse. Jack took off with haft a mouse. Ripply ate the other haft, and came back for more. Unforently, lee ended up taking her second haft of mouse. So..Heres a list of what each ate tonight. Jack- Mouse parts, and chewed on the neck. Lee- Lots of mouse and some fat from the neck. Monster- Mouse head and chewed on the neck. Ripply- mouse parts, and licked the neck. Pixie- mouse parts, and chewed the neck alot. Dingo- Fast asleep. But he did sniff, and was interested in a peice of mouse. Yay! Swipper- Spit everything out still, but she trys. Bear- Slept right in the way of everyone. He is calming down since he and his sister came to me. He is still 3lbs at 6months old. Big fatty pants.
