If my 4.5 year old ferret's results come back positive, we will be getting the surgery ASAP. I am switching to raw and want to know if I should do try to do it pre-surgery or anything else I can do or any other supplements I can give or ANYTHING at all I can do to make sure he comes through OK. Someone else said it didnt sound like adrenal-I'd like you to weigh in on that. He has thin hair, especially on his side, where i can see his ribs when he runs. He seems to have a bit less energy than normal. We did just move a couple weeks ago and their cage fell off the truck and got torn up (they were in the car in a cat carrier with me at the time) and they had to live in the botton of that cage for a week till we could get another one (exact same size, huge lol) and we are having bug and ant problems till we can get the exterminator here, although Im carefull about examining their cage and killing all the spiders and stuff (and thats pure love right there-I have severe bug phobias lol) but I wont let my mom use chemical insecticides because I dont want my fuzzies getting sick (or the cats or dog either) We only moved like 5 mins away so its the same climate. I dont bathe them at all because it strips their oil and they have very little smell. Theyve been getting a little less furovite and ferretone because keawea is getting fat. Could it just be stress or something? And if it is adrenal, im gunna need help preparing him for surgery and helping him recover...

You know your little one may be reacting to stress. Get yourself some rescue remedy and put it in his water. He wouldn't be the first ferret that I've had that lost his hair from stress. It doesn't really sound like adrenal....just me...anyone else?? Have they done a scraping for mites? Stress can cause other problems too. Does he grind his teeth? Are his poops normal? Hopefully, your blood work will tell you where you're at. Good luck...Get well little one ciao
