Ok, so this guy tells me he is moving, can't take his ferts for whatever reason and so asks if I can take them. I agree with the understanding they will most likely be rehomed. We'll see how that bit turns out. Anyhow, he moves today so they should be dropped off sometime soon. I hope so as I put off a trip to visit the inlaws to wait for them. Anyhow, they are all males. One is deaf, he is a sable. The other two are white and silver. Apperently all three are (seem to be) healthy. But one is a biter so he had a hard time finding a home for them. But they all get along with each other fine, and the other two are cuddly with people too. No more! I'm gonna have to start selling my stuff to cover vet fees

This might not be permanant. Who am I kidding. I need to start working to afford my addictions. But I want to wait till my little girl is older. She's only 6 weeks right now (yes, I do have my hands full, but I wouldn't have it any other way ) Suds, I was hoping it would do just that. Not holding my breath though

Oh Heather, I think I might have to find a home for this one guy. My son is great with the ferts, he knows to keep away when they're fiesty and he's gentle, ect. I always wanted my kids to be good with animals, and I got that. But this guy, wow! I named him Fang. He bit and held on. Matt had to pry him off. No amount of face blowing helped. If it were just me and Matt, I could keep him. Even if I didn't have baby, just my son (4 yrs old), I could keep him. But with baby, not gonna happen. So I will be finding him a new home. Eventually anyhow. Hey heather.....would you like a new little guy? He's great with other ferts.
I am keeping the other two. And Suds, they have helped a bit on the fighting bit so far. I think Rascal and Lars had a hard time telling how to play. I don't think they've seen other ferrets for a very long time. But These two play so well. And oh my gosh! I am in love with Teddy (I am changing his name most likely). He is such a cuddlebug. He's deaf, so I make sure not to startle him. The other little guy, Dax, is so pretty. And such a clown. The people they were with before seemed nice enough. They were feeding Before Grain catfood. Seems decent for a cat food. I set out a bowl of very chunky soup and Dax dove right in! Yay! Maybe I can start him on soup right away. But honestly I want to use up the kibble on these guys, since I'm low on funds for a couple weeks.
They are in such good condition. Teddy is so soft, which just adds to his cuddliness. His fur is almost fluffy. Dax has more wiry hair, but still great condition. They do smell like ferrets do on cat food. Rascal has so little smeel it was odd when I first smelled them. And they do poop a lot, but thats ok. I'll get them on raw in no time.
If anyone has any suggestions on how to find a good home for Fang, let me know. I just can't have a biter right now. I feel so bad, but I figure if I get him out of here into a good perma home asap, it will be less stressful than if he settles here first. YKWIM?
Anyhow, I have changed my siggy again, and have all the fur kids pics in. They are so gorgeous!

DAX looks like my new little guy JD JD tore me up the first day i got him, I even used a glove to deal with him the next day I was worried about keeping him or not but decided to give him a try and I am glad I did he is a sweetheart love to be held comes up and grroms my hair and gives kisses now all the time. I just learned to keep a stuffed toy near me when he is out when I see him about to nip I shove the toy in his mouth say no biting humans and it seems to be working .But from researching about biters I think I got lucky from alot of the threads I read its seems some never realy stop biting but then again those are the ones that seems people never keep a constent type of training and always switch around if it dont work that day . Ether way I wish you the best with your new family I have my handsfull with 2 let alone 5 . Maybe getting him on raw he can take his bitting habbits out on a chicken wing instead of fingers will cure him aswell "just a thought Its kinda the advise Giuli gave when I got JD last week

I was thinking that. But he won't be able to get out very often, unless I can get a playpen. So I am on the playpen thing like mad now. I just need $60 for one lol. I will not let him run around the room with Aiden out, or with baby in the same room, since I can't jump up with her in my arms. He does seem like he really wants attention though. He was following me around like a puppy, I was kinda scared he wanted to eat my feet though. I was told he has a thing for toes. So I put on shoes and felt better.

lol I know the feeling about wanting to eat feet JD goes for them and then the calves I figured he did it for attention (maybe it was the only he got attention from prevouse owners) I watch him carefully and when he does go for my feet I sternly say no! an point to the ground but not pick him up he would stop look at me then add would kick in and go after something else after a min. or 2 I would then pick him and play with him hopeing he wil learn that feet are a no no and if he is good he will have fun. could work for your guy nevr hurts to try

Is it just me, or are the white, and lighter ferrets more aggressive in general. Even when just playing I've noticed they tend to nip more. Lars and Rascal both play hard, and Rascal nips constantly when she plays with me. But any dark ferret I've had was very gentle, or at least more polite. The very first white ferret I got bit my dog inside of her ear, for no obvious reason, she was letting him sniff around in her ear, he bit and she had to wear a cone for months.

So fang has left. I have to say I feel a bit sad. But I know Heather will take amazing care of him. Thanks for taking him, you can work with his issues much better than I ever could right now. Rascal has now become a cuddlebug with Dax and Teddy, it's so awesome to see her right in the bottom of a furpile
