So, as it turns out I couldn't have come up with a better name for Bandit. From the moment I got her home she has been stealing things and hiding them away; the others only take one or two things each, but Bandit takes anything that looks interesting. She has taken everything from my cell phone, to money, to medicine bottles. This is all to be expected of course.
Then she decided that she needed to learn to get around better so she taught herself to climb. So now she climbs the couch, my desk, the cage, and bookshelves. The bookshelf thing came when I started putting my Coke cans up there instead of leaving them on my desk... Did I mention her addiction to Coca-Cola?
Well, just as I'm getting used to this behavior she's learned to open the gate blocking the kitchen! She's done it twice so far, the first time I thought someone left it open, but today that wasn't a possibility. And where did she go once in the kitchen? Behind and under the fridge of course. So I lured her out with a chick and grabbed her before she could make a break back to the fridge.
Arrrgh! She just did it again (twice!) I watched it this time, she bites the bars and pulls. Grrr. It worked so well for so long for keeping them out of there, now I have to come up with something else. Smart ferrets are nothing but trouble; at some point she'll find a way to open the Ferret Nation cage, I just know it!
I need to find a place that makes orange prison jump suits for ferrets.
