My name is Nykol (pronounced Nicole). I've been a dedicated ferret person for over ten years. I currently have 5 personal ferrets and 2 hospice babies from the shelter. I'm very excited to have found this forum. I've wanted to get my ferrets to eat whole prey for a number of years. My kids will already eat a number of cooked meats (occasionally they'll eat raw) and such, but I have yet to be succesful at getting them to eat whole bones. Since I haven't been able to get mine to eat enough raw foods yet, I've done my best by feeding Evo, Bob's Chicken Gravy, and some freeze dried BARF diets. I think once I know how, my babies switch will go quite well. I always want the best for them and I'm excited to get started.
Is there somewhere I can read the info that's going to be on the upcoming website on how to get started or do I just go by the info people give here?

Hi Nykol (cool name ) Im happy to have you here Until the site gets up you pretty much just post your questions, we answer them, you start a thread where you post updates on your babies progress, and then we guide you from there (Buzzonesbirdie gave you all the right links ) We will moniter you closely to make sure all goes well. We are here to help you one-one-one. The text for the site is not yet copyrighted yet, so that's why we can't publically post any of it yet But we do give you summaries and the basic gist of it. We'll guide you through the switch and then once they are fully convereted we ask to see your "weekly feeding schedule" we review it to make sure you are feeding the right balance. Then 3 months, 6 months, and 1 year after the switch we take some time to do an "in depth" checkup with you to make sure all is going well. We encourage you to stay on the forum after you switch btw, so its not like you switch and then we kick you off lol Hopefully you'll find all the help you need here. It sounds like you are off to a great start with your babies. If they are already eating a variety of foods they SHOULD be easier to switch, but we'll see (every ferret is different). and if there is anything you need feel free to PM me or one of the Holistic Ferret Mentors

Hi Nykol! Welcome to our forum! Sounds like your ferrets are at least open to the flavors and textures of more natural foods with a few ideas from our forum your kids should be chowing down in bines in no time!
Cheers! Kim
