www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2754401$8.49 for a 12 pound bag and $12.99 for a 25 pound bag I'd say it is so cheap since the idea of dog litter boxes isn't very popular at all. hey I figure if it can soak up dog pee it will work excellent for ferret pee plus its from Purina who makes yesterdays news. I'd say this is a great find in my book.

I will buy a 12 pound bag when I run out of the yesterday's news ferret kind to try out. I'm sure I will like it. I like the price thats for sure. like Jasmine said it is not dusty and made from recycled paper. If I think the pellets are too large I may break them by hand.

To save money, if you've got wood stove pellets in your area.. Just mix a 40 pound bag of wood stove pellets ($4-$7, much cheaper then the paper pellets) and mix that with a bag of the paper pellets. It lasts a LONG time and it works Very very well. We've had our mix for about four months and still have about half the mixture.. But our paper portion also includes shredded news paper. I don't support Purina when I don't have to though. The only reason I touched YN was because there were two bags on clearance for alittle under $2 each.

I would assume the wood stove pellets break down into saw dust like feline pine does. I have determined I don't like feline pine at all because of how messy scooping the saw dust is. So I won't buy it again. Besides petsmart is closer than any store near me that sells the wood stove pellets. (I don't drive even though I have a car I don't have my license I am afraid of driving...Also an old high school friend of mine and her unborn child just died last month in a car accident so that doesn't help the confidence factor either so I have to depend on my mom or sister or my bike to take me places) I like how easy it is with the plain paper pellets to scoop the poop only no need to scoop wet dust. I change the box once a week anyways so the pee soaked pellets get thrown out. Also The girls pee on top of their poo so the only pee that gets left behind is really just Mr. Beans. Since he pees in front of the poop.
