i guess the "Carnivore" Diet for cats would be ok to feed as a treat. i would not feed it as a main staple becuase it being ground up they would not get the work out or benefits to their teeth and gums

Hi Weeks! Well if you believe in "truth in advertising" their label of 100% all beef, 100% all chicken falls to pieces when you read the ingredients and there is kelp, seaweed extract, fortified with added vitamins and minerals listed! I suppose the all beef, all chicken and tripe would be o.k. I'd definitely stay away from their fruit and veggies added as well as their "sprinkles", but the supposedly 100% other items might be o.k. for a treat but not as a diet staple. I also worry when products are prepared with "ground bone" - I'd rather my ferrets benefit from actually gnawing on a real whole bone. Have you considered freeze drying your own meaty bone items? Cut into small pieces at least 1/4" thick or thinner about an inch square, put these pieces in an ice cube tray and allow to freeze dry for several days in a frost free freezer. You can buy economy size packages of meaty bone items and freeze dry for later use. You can buy a whole lot of meaty items for the price they are asking for one or two small packages! I get these locally, lamb lung and other freeze dried items from this company to add variety to my ferret's menu: www.merrickpetcare.com/store/treats_detail.php?c=25&s=60014Cheers, Kim

Thanks both of you~ I'm still incredibly new and we have not yet made the switch. I figured I's buy in bulk from a local grocer but I was just wondering about the quality of other options. It's always nice to have the input of people who know what they are doing If I decide to get any of these items, I will take your advice and only use them as treats.

This is a good way to get started but as a main part of the diet freeze dried is pretty processed. It is better than kibble though
