I just found half a rubber band on the top shelf of the ferret cage and the ferrets have been out all day....
I gave all three fuzzies a dose of ferret lax and plan to do so as it reccomends 2-3 times a day. Will this help? I am transitioning to raw and none of my kids liked today's first meal so they haven't pooped much today... but that could also be because one of them has a rubberband in them!
Its Saturday night so obviously my ferret vet is closed. All of them are acting normal. What should I watch for and should I bring them to the emergency vet?
Also, another thing I was going to mention was that this morning Didjer's ribs feel really hard... around the middle of his chest. It freaked me out a little but I tried to calm myself down by telling myself that I am just an overreacting, paranoid pet owner/ ferret mommy. I felt the ribs of my other two and noticed that Didjer's weren't much harder than their so I tried my best to shrug it off as me being hyper sensitive.... That was this morning and afternoon. Then around 7:30 I found the rubberband. The weird thing is that the rubberband was NOT in the cage earlier... so I am wondering when they might have eaten it...
Unless they ate it early this morning or last night, hid it, then brought it upstairs later to play with it or something? Gosh this sucks. Now I am feeling their rib cages and they ALL seem harder than normal!
Please help, I have never been in this situation... I don't know who of my three ferrets the other half of the rubberband could be in!
How long should I wait to see if the lax works before I bring them into the vet? There are two emergency vets that are open 24/7. What should I do?
