Im not sure where to post this....Im worried because I just noticed these red spots on my (both) my ferrets skin near their neck under the skin. It looks like blood spots under the skin and there are only a couple in one main area, on the back of their neck between the shoulders. I dont know if I should be worried or if it may be due to scratching but Ive checked them for fleas and they are clear, and nothing really has changed.
Im making a vet appt, I just wanted to hear if anyone knew of a condition like this or has any insight.

The only thing that really comes to mind is mast cell tumors. Dont fear, if this IS the case, these are like almost always benign (non cancerous) in ferrets. Samson has a mast cell tumor. Sometimes ititches and he scracthes it and a bleeds a little bit.
Anyway you could get a pic?

I will try but that may take some time haha, I have to get them when they are most vulnerable...sleeping! So I will follow up with that, although I just thought of something else that may have something to do with it, and to be quite honest I really wouldnt doubt it....I give monthly doses of Revolution to my ferrets ( i know its not that healthy), but its really the only way I am able to take them outside in the summer months without having to worry! I noticed they are right at the spot of where I applied it the first time (I have only used it for 2 months so far), and since they both have it in the same place all of the sudden, maybe it isnt a coincidence after all.

What dosage of revolution ore you using?Should be the kitten dosage, and I split a vial between two ferrets at that. The dog or cat dosage may be too much for them even though Revolution has been tested up to 10 times the normal dose and found safe.
When you are putting it on it could be that a sharp corner is poking them.
Are the red spots flat with the skin or slightly raised?
Could they just simply be bite marks from rough housing?
Cheers, Kim

I split a vial between the two like I was told to by my vet...and I just reaized they arent there anymore!!! ?? The skin WAS flat...so my conclusion is it was from scruffing them. Sometimes my 2 can get pretty rowdy and I have to scruff them to do things (like put on revolution, since they hate it), and I think I pinched too hard and it caused those spots (I feel absolutly horrible about that! )
