I was reading the main site and it said ideal for animals that like to dig and burrow....Well what do ferrets do?!?! It is available in 20 lb packages and it is only $14.99 same price as the rice for rice dig boxes i think. My only concern is they would think it may be a litter box BUT what if you throw in a a couple toys and put a lid over the box (like a rubbermade container with a lid with a hold cut in it) Just an idea I think I may try sometime in the future. www.yesterdaysnews.com/smallAnimalBedding.htmlwww.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2751592

Wow - you pay that much for rice?!? Ouch! I can get a 20 lb bag for $4. I guess it all depends on where you are!
I don't see any problem with using that for a dig box. Like you said, just be sure they don't potty in it, and if they do to clean it out. Some ferrets have accidents in the rice boxes, too. You just have to clean it out and keep on truckin'...

I have never bought rice for a dig box but i have heard about $15 bux for 20 lbs. I have only used coconut husk (left over bedding from my snake and tarantulas and they love it I just have to wet it down every now and then do it doesn't get really dusty.
