I like your cage. I am looking for ideas to make a new cage for my new baby's. Can you add a remote litter box to it?

Most likely. You could cut a hole in the hardware cloth on one side and attach the tube there. You could tape everything up so its safe for them.

Plans? LOL I'll see what I can do. We did build it ourselves (boyf and me), it cost us about $75, but we already had some hardware cloth and wood. This is way cheaper depending on if you are looking at any 2 level cage, all of them are $200-400. So this is a money saver. Especially if you know what you are doing.
I will try to take lots of detailed photos for you and find our layout sketches so you have a better idea of how we did this. However, I am having surgery this week and I have a sick ferret, I will not get to it this week. I will try to take all the photos though.

I like your cage. Wow, that is a huge ferret walking down the ramp....LOL Great creativity!!!! LOL I think its mostly the angle, but yeah he is 2.25lbs, when I got him he was 3lbs. But his tummy back there is still pretty big, I don't think that will go away ever. But thanks about the cage. It took a few days to make and its awesome!! Kiwi my DEW loves it, she jumps all over it, but Apple stays on the first floor mostly. He has a hard time negotiating the ramps!! LOL Its hilarious!

Cool Cage!!!! Is that seam in the back where Kiwi got her scrape??? If so, you could get a flat piece of wood or plexiglass to cover the overlapping hardware cloth and either incorporate it into the cage frame (if it's wood) or drill several holes in it and tie-wrap the wood to the harware cloth. Does that make sense??? Also ---- "Pear"-shaped shower curtain hooks??? That cracked me up!!! -jennifer

Thanks! My boyfriend and I built and painted it ourselves! It was a fun project for us!
I don't think thats where it happened, at that back seam. Though I have no proof. Soon I will be posting pics of the cage with the bedding in it and you'll see what I mean then. The hardware cloth can't fit those "pear"-shaped shower hooks, and I use the wood floors to hold up the hammocks too. I'll try to get those up this week too. I'm taking a bunch of photos and posting them on my Photobucket so I can be more up to date, including my siggy!

I like the perimeter of the wood planks, and I like the ramps. They have that nice raised part for them to grip.

Thanks. I really need to update as I no longer have this cage. It has been passed on to some chinchilla lovers!
