Has anyone heard of this stuff? They are VitaLife for dogs. I can't find any website for it, and the only thing that comes up is a vitamin chew/pill. That is NOT what I am talking about. I was at Petsmart and was trying to help my friend find the best dog food that wasn't super expensive (what bad choices they have), and we came across these. OK, the website only comes up with these duck ones, www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3089905But at the store there are chicken strips, chicken breast, I mean several different bags. So its weird this is all they show. Anyway the only ingredient is duck. Its 70% protein, however 1% fat. But its just a treat anyway. They are in the dog rawhide section. Would these be ok for ferrets? Are they too rough? They look like rawhide strips of chicken, or circles of duck meat. Anyone think these would be bad for them? I think it would be a nice treat for him and super healthy because of all the protein. If you search online for this, the chicken is in a yellow bag and the ONLY ingredient is chicken. And the duck is in a green bag, ONLY duck as the ingredient. I can't tell if these are freeze-dried or what? If I go back to the store this weekend I will try to take a photo to post up here so you see what I mean.

I'd be careful with that. It's a product of China, I always try to stay away from edible products made in China.

I can understand Tss's concearn about buying foreign products (ESPECIALLY after the big 2007 pet food recalls) I just purchased a bag of these to donate to the natural area fundrasier raffle for the ferret guardian and rescue haven. I would think they'd be fine as a treat, but some people (understandably) might be a little nervous about feeding foreign product, it didnt especially concearn ME, but its a choice you'll have to make for you I buy Dogswell "Healthy Hips" chicken Jerkey for my babies (and they LOVE it!) You can get it at Target and Petco (maybe petsmart too). Its just cage free chicken breast (with a tiny amount of vitamen E and glucosome and chondroiton----for joint health). My guys go nuts over these. Im not sure if it is a product of the US or not.

Awesome, a girl on another forum said her ferrets love the duck tenders. She says the duck chips are too hard for them. I think I might by the duck tenders, maybe they have more poultry other than chicken! This would be great variety!

I donated the duck tenders to the FGRH raffle because a.) variety and b.)some ferrets are allergic to chicken. I think its good to "switch things up" a bit
