Hey guys... I just recently joined Forum.ferret.com where I found out about this forum. My name is Cassandra and I have three babies: Ernie is silver, a Marshalls ferret, 3-4 years old. I got him off craigslist.com in December with his brother. He has had many owners before me Didjeridu is a dark sable male, 2-3 years old, total beast. I got him and Ernie as a pair. He has also had many owners... I plan on being their last! Our little girl is still nameless. She has been with us for four weeks now and was found on the streets. The vet thinks she is 3-4 years old and she is the sweetest thing ever. She is very petite compared to our boys and a champagne color with points. I also live with my man, our two dogs, Ajax, a 3 year old boston mix and Vita, a 2 year old chihuahua, and 5 beautiful fish. I am a student and plan on pursuing a career with animals; possibly animal welfare or animal rights. I am interested in feeding raw foods to my ferrets though I am vegan so this will be a very slow and uncomfortable process for me. I know this will be best for my ferrets but it will also be emotionally difficult for me. I appreciate your support! Cassandra Oh, also, how do I attach pictures?

Cassandra, welcome! We are almost/kinda neighbors....well, far away neighbors...I live in NW Washington. =) I recognize you from ferret.com Take it as slow as you fel comfortable in doing so! Do you think whole prey would be easier for you, rather than handling raw meat? I know to some (even non-vegetarians) have a hard time feeding mice & such to their ferrets. I feed whole prey to 4 out of 7 of mine, along with Pingford's Porridge as supplements to my Evo blend kibble. Jump right in & ask questions, or troll around, & just read, whatever suits you! =) As far as posting pics, if you don't already, open a photobucket account, download pics to it, then use the " " link inserted to post pics. Holler if you need help, k? =)

Hi A little late but a warm hello and welcome. Please feel free to ask these wonderful people questions. I've known a lot of vegans who have overcome their "Ickys" for meat for their furkids. As you already know what you need for food, so do your little carnivores Read, ask questions and have a good time. Your off on a great new adventure and your furchildren will love you for it. ciao
