How do you keep it from tracking? I bought some to switch to and the clumping action is nice but MAN does it track all over the cage floor.
How do you avoid this?!

You can put a rug around the cat area- like an indoor-outdoor mat with plastic 'hairs' coming up (sorry I can't describe it better).

I use a miniature sweeper broom and dust pan I also found Yesterday's News got tossed all over the cage and floor, and my vacuum did NOT like the size of the YN pellets

Hmm, thanks for letting me know that WBCL tracks too..
I had YN and i thought it was pretty good, then I got wood pellets as suggested here, and jeez do they fall apart and track! in a day the whole cage is covered!!
Is there a non tracking litter? I bought these crystal things, but at 20 dollars for a 2L thing is ridiculous, so i just combine the two..

I've always read that clumping litter is a no-no for ferrets, so have never used any. I do use it for the cat, but her litter pan is always put up when the ferrets are running around the house.
I've used wood stove pellets for years because they were so cheap and controlled odor well, although they did break down into sawdust and got tracked around their cages and the ferret room. When I couldn't get them any longer, I got a bag of YN which I'd used before I had access to wood stove pellets. I was not happy to find that that it had been changed since I last used it...much smaller pellets, breaks down and tracks almost as badly as the wood stove pellet, plus it no longer controls odor as well as it used to.
I've been using the Purina Second Nature litter for dogs for the past year or so, and really like it as the pellets are a bit larger than YN used to be, don't break down as readily, and there's no tracking at all. It also controls urine odor extremely well, which is very helpful during breeding season when both hobs and jills have a much stronger urine odor. I get a 25 lb bag for $16 and a bag lasts me about a month.

Most clumping litters are clay which is why they shouldn't be used for ferrets. Clay is dusty and can be dangerous if swallowed. World's Best is made from corn. It's low dust and much safer than clay litters. Obviously you might not want to use WBCL if your ferret chows down on it but personally I love that litter. I've never had an issue with it tracking myself.

I was thinking about getting wbcl for my ferrets/cat. I use yesterday's news and like it. I hated wood stove pellets but clay litter(cat) isn't good for the environment and I'm trying to switch to almost all ecofrindly items in my house.

Yesterday's News fits that bill, and if you like it, then stay with it. I prefer the WB, simply because of 9 ferrets in two cages in my living room(small townhouse), and this way, the urine stays fully scooped twice a day, reducing the odour.

I'm liking the WB a lot. The tracking I think I can probably live with. Just a good sweep and wipe in the cage after 2-3 days. Just the part of having ferrets!

I really like WBCL; scooping makes cleaning such a breeze. I always found the pelleted litters far harder to scoop and they started to stink within a day, especially the wood stove pellets. I used to use puppy pads too but Bomber likes to shred them to pieces. I wish I could go back to using WBCL with my cats, but if I don't use the crappy clay litter, one of them takes to peeing all over everything, mainly my bed.

Yep! The only time I will find pee on my bed is if it is time to deep clean the litter box. Freedom isn't very subtle about letting me know.

At least it's few and far between now. Rather than a daily, or nightly, occurrence!

Oh yes, this I can tolerate. He does it about once a month, so I just keep a waterproof cover on the bed. Then I deep clean the box, and he's fine. No problems until he lets me know it's time to clean again! lol.
