I am so hooked on raw/whole prey now its just mad I am still figuring out the whole balance thing (although, I know I have it right with my diet now! =D ) but was wondering if these things were ok for the "base" of the diet?: Mice/Rats Quail Juvenille chicken (all of it, ) Rabbit Then every other day or so: Minced meat Tripe (not the crappy stuff, I have found a good place to get it and the ferts love it!) Poultry necks DOC (day-old-chick) Phesant Pigeon Sparrows, starling etc I am thinking about breeding the base diets at home to make sure they have a GOOD life before being killed and hopefully save some money

Yes Mice and rats make a good "base" just be sure you are feeding mostly adults with some younger mice/rats (pinky, fuzzy, hopper) and older adults (x-large mice, medium-large rats) thrown in for variety. The older you can get the quail the better Younger quail is kind of low in calcium. But other then that, all looks good

Thanks! , the quail will probably be 10-18 months if I decide to breed them myself, and then everynow and again they will get some hatchlings and babys as a treat.

Your ferrets have it good. And yes that is a good diet.
