Starting my Animal Assisted Therapy classes this Saturday. I will be using my ferret Skunkers. I cant wait. Down the road I will get a dog and use the dog, but for now I cant have a dog so I think it will be a great change to use a ferret. And Skunkers is super nice. Any words of wisdom??

Will there be other animals there? I'd just be cautious around bigger dogs and such.

should be other animals there. I do not take the ferret with me to all the classes, its just towards the end I will have to bring him to get him certified.

I went on a tour at the local hostile and the emergency service stress relief dog is trained not to lick because some people don't like that, any similarity?

That is so awesome. I thought they didn't allow ferrets to be therapy animals, but they allowed chickens Anyways, that would be great if you could use Skunkers. He would be a great therapy animal :3 <3

Just to give you an idea of the type of therapy a ferret can do for the elderly:
