Every so often I will walk by these in the pet stores that are clearly jerkied meats from different animals. The only thing that they tend to add to these are vitamins such as Flax Seed, Taurine, Vitamin A or Glucosamine. I'm wondering if any of you give these to your ferrets? If you do, do you consider it a meal or a treat? I saw the ferret treats like the N Bones and the like but the ingredients don't bode well with the natural way. So I'm looking at alternatives. Thanks! www.dogtipper.com/products/2010/02/loving-pets-gourmet-dog-treats.html

I can't say about the product as we can't get that here but watch for sodium and nitrates in the ingredients. These are 2 common ingredients in the jerkies. The other thing you may want to watch is it is manufactured in China. I'm always a little reticent about pet food products coming out of China. I make my own dehydrated treats, it's just easier and I know exactly what is going into it. Of course the little ones can make their own treats which they seem to find immeasurably better than mine....but I wish they didn't ciao

I bought a bag of the duck-breast jerky. The ingredient list was simply duck and glucosamine and it was manufactured in the US not china. No one will eat them It was like a $30 bag of jerky. My advice... buy the small bag first

I make my own some times, but have purchased duck strips and chicken strips. Waggin Tales brand. Yeah it's from China. I was hesitant at first due to the melamine. But ventured into the brand after a little research. I do NOT get any of the smoked or flavor added items. And only buy if they are on sae. I like giving my guys dried forms because it keeps them familiar in case of hurricanes. Dehfrated and freeze dried of all sorts as long as they don't have added stuff. Cheers, Kim

You might be able to get them interested Jackie. Try putting some oil on them, chopped into smaller pieces.
