My little one likes to groom himself. He develops hairballs. I give him 1 teaspoon of pumpkin a week and now going to add olive oil to his soupies. Question #1: is this enough pumpkin? question #2 what kind of olive oil? Regular or extra virgin? Spanish, Italian, Greek, etc.

It is either 1 teaspoon every 12 hours or 1 teaspoon once a day. I honestly can't remember I have been away from the forums awhile. I don't give it unless there is an issue or I want to randomly make sure everyones pipes are clean.
Olive oil I know for sure is 1 teaspoon and they can enjoy that yummy treat once daily. I always give mine extra virgin olive oil because i hear its the best. The brats prefer organic to store brand lol. They like it all in a little soup i make with 2 cubes of thawed pumpkin 4 teaspoons olive oil and 2 egg yolks.
I used to give mine salmon oil but the brand changed and they didn't like it. I need to order some online.

I give up to 1 tbsp if I'm trying to move a hairball or suspected blockage. I feed pumpkin in their soupy which they get on a daily basis so I don't feed it on a weekly manner. As a regular preventative during shed, I would think that along with the olive oil (I too use xtra virgin but have found they like the xtra virgin light flavour better) that 1 tsp per ferret per day or so would probably work. I feed prey as well so that too can be taken into consideration. ciao
