I was bumming around on CL looking at pictures and wishing I could take every last animal home (oh how easy it would be to be a hoarder! ). And I found an add for pet sitting!

For those who don't know, this fall I will be leaving for a month to go do some volunteer work in Africa! I am really excited but, Especially after the Christmas poop-fiasco! and scared to leave the boys behind. So I have been keeping an eye out for options. I just emailed the lady asking about her ferret experience and such, so we'll see. If it sounds good, I think I will try her out for a few weekend/week trips this summer. Then I can go to the beach (without my roommate watching them) and try her out before leaving them with her for a whole month! In the meanwhile, I thought I would share the link and see what you guys all think based on her site. I will also be contacting the rescue in town as well.
I know it is very silly but I worry about them being watched at a rescue for 2 reasons: the illnesses other rescued ferrets might bring in (obviously I would hope that they quarantine though), and while I know how silly this sounds, I worry that they could somehow be accidentally adopted out when I am gone! I know it is ridiculous, but it's just this silly fear I have in the back of my head.

She seems quite professional and organized. Trying her out for shorter periods of time seems like a good idea.

You made sure she's ok with feeding them raw?

I think her website looks great. Did you ask if she was comfortable feeding raw while you're gone? How much time a day would the boys get out?

OH I didn't ask how much they would get out. I figured that when the time came, I would TELL her how much they need to be out or I will find another pet sitter.... I Did ask about raw. I emailed her a little bit ago so I probably won't hear back right away... *refreshes page again* I mean, it IS the weekend...!
