Last weekend I took Brady shopping to PetSupermarket. He was mostly indifferent but did manage to grab a few toys. One of those was a package of mice that make this squeaking sound when they shake. Well at home, Jack just thought these were the coolest. Sooooo I think it's time i try to see if Jack is a hunter. I've been toying with the idea of giving him a live mouse lately and with his interest in this toy mouse being so high, i think it's time. Wish us (mostly me) luck. If he doesn't kill it quick, I'm going to end up with a pet mouse. And i don't want a pet mouse

Good luck! Hopefully he kills & eats the mousey. Has he ever had whole prey before?

Yeah I'd be more worried about him eating it if he's never had mice before. Most ferrets seem to be pretty naturally skilled hunters.

I must have gotten stuck with the dense ones, only 2 out of 8 have known what to do with a mouse, a few others would pin one down and nip at it, but no idea on how to actually kill it and no urge to eat it. The two naturals were both that way right off the bat, although one will kill as many as I give her, stack them all up and eat later, the other kills one mouse and starts eating, ignoring the rest until he's done.

Going Natural
Ferrets are nature's anti-depressant.

Don't be surprised if you find yourself attached, I never thought I would get into them as pets myself till I raised a wild litter that was near poison.
