...is one TINY piece.... I never posted these. I was too wrapped up in the post surgical care, and later IBD. Well I cleaned out some stuff and came across this. I kept it as a reminder. Maybe it will help give someone else a little perspective on how LITTLE it really takes to put these guys on the brink of death... Pink and white eraser chunks Next to a US Dime for perspective... I was LUCKY he made it out ok. Not all ferrets/ferrents are as lucky as Koda and I. I had a GREAT vet who saved his life and I will never forget it. PLEASE ferret proof CAREFULLY!

A great reminder for us all. Ferret-proofing is a serious thing. That "pink" eraser reminds me so much of beef heart, gack. I thought it was something horrible at first.

Oh boy. What is the yellow stuff? Ferret proofing is so important. When you first get a ferret (or cat) you just never know what they are going to eat. My friends cat ate ribbons and needed a surgery for a blockage. As for me, 20 years and not one blockage to date!! knock on wood!! I've had PLENTY of scares though!!

Katt,
GREAT Post!
Another thing that I read is that all it takes is an object that's the same diameter a a pencil to block a ferret.
Some girls can be pretty small as well - so the potential may be greater yet.
