I thought some parts were thought provoking, others I wanted more proof, and others I sort of rolled my eyes.
What really made me think was when the one vet talked about there being 10 gerneations of animals in the space of 10 years. Wherease humans it would be about 300 years. So we are seeing the effects of bad nutrition quicker in animals and pets, than we would in humans.
I wanted more proof about over vaccination causing cancer.
and I rolled my eyes when they talked about harnessing the energy from the world and using that to help heal animals.
That led into the part about using accupuncture prior to surgery minimizes the need to use lots of anesthesia. and therefore animals come out quicker and arent out as long as when they just use anethesia.

I watched the video last night and actually agree with a ton of it. I wish people would start thinking more this way about people as a whole too. My mother and I both live with chronic pain diseases and the only thing either of us has found that help long term have been holistic approaches, most of which have been drawn from Chinese medicine and their way about thinking. Acupuncture is an amazing part of their ideology behind healing the body so that it can help itself, rather than the mostly Western ideology of suppressing the body and trying to mask and solve hundreds of individual problems.

What a fantastic video. This is the various modalities that I've been practicing and working with for years. This is great. Unfortunately, we've been so programmed to work allopathically we have a tendency to only focus on the meds and the vaccines and curing the symptoms. The damage that we're doing to ourselves and our pets by the overuse of various medications, and the over-reliance of vaccines to cure, (vaccines cure nothing, they actually cause more problems than you can ever imagine, temperment issues, cancers, allergies to name a few). Are you going to have a listing of alternative practitioners? Is there going to be open discussions about using T-touch, homeopathy, herbology, Reiki, message, Chinese medicine, chiropractors and other alternative sources of healing? We advocate natural feeding but as a list are we going to support holistic healing too? I'm curious as this to me is part of the package but not everyone sees it as that. We can embrace just the natural feeding but there's so much else out there. We're a new list. In the grand scheme of things. What do we or don't we support? If we're going to advice or mentor, we're going to be giving advice on a more personal level, but the list as a whole has to come to an agreement to a certain degree as to the general stand or tone. I practice many, and have used all of these methods at one time or another (while working with my vet). I will use allopathic medicine, to offer instant relief (treat symptom) if I have to, but lean toward alternative when treating and giving advice for the most part ciao.

Are you going to have a listing of alternative practitioners? We currently have a list of ferret vets that support a natural diet (in the medical section). I will also be calling up every single ferret vet in the United States and Canada (eventually) to create a master list of ferret-competant vets that support a natural diet. On each vet's contact info, there will be a note on whether or not the vet is allopatic, holistic, integrative, and what their stance is on vaccines, pest preventatives, etc, etc. Is there going to be open discussions about using T-touch, homeopathy, herbology, Reiki, message, Chinese medicine, chiropractors and other alternative sources of healing? We advocate natural feeding but as a list are we going to support holistic healing too? Absolutely! Holistic Ferret is a forum (and soon an informative website ) that focouses not only on natural diet, but natural care and medical treatment as well. I hope that we can get some discussion going on the forum about the topics you mentioned. Feel free to start a topic, or post info on these things in the "medical" or "natural care" section. We take a HOLISTIC ( ) approach to ferret care. Treating the ferret naturally as a whole, in both diet and in other ways too (such as enrichment and medical treatment). I'm curious as this to me is part of the package but not everyone sees it as that. We can embrace just the natural feeding but there's so much else out there. We're a new list. In the grand scheme of things. I ABSOULTELY see natural care and natural diet as a "whole package". This is certainly what the Holistic Ferret enterprise hopes to get across to people. What do we or don't we support? If we're going to advice or mentor, we're going to be giving advice on a more personal level, but the list as a whole has to come to an agreement to a certain degree as to the general stand or tone. I practice many, and have used all of these methods at one time or another (while working with my vet). I will use allopathic medicine, to offer instant relief (treat symptom) if I have to, but lean toward alternative when treating and giving advice for the most part ciao.In mid July all mentors will be recieving "training manuels". These guides will let you know what views HF hopes to promote. It will also go into more specific detail about how I'd like the mentoring to be undertaken. Once I write up the mentor training manuels, I will make a post here on the forum that outlines the core beliefs of Holistic Ferret. Even if our members dont agree with all the beliefs, that is okay, they are still welcome here. But you are right, I think its imporant to know what Holistic Ferret "stands for" and we'll be outlining just that come July.

Had I not known the ferret community well, I would be surprised at some of the things members here suggest since it is a holistic forum. Knowing the ferret community though I am not surprised to still see routine vaccines, regular spot on treatment and poor supplement choices such as Ferretone being suggested. In the ferret community, I seem to have extreme views on health care but overall in the world of holisic pet care I actually have very moderate views.
