Some of you might remember me, some of you may not. But after taking a long break from most of my ferret forums, I have returned! And I'm also ready to get some good help and advice because we are making the switch. My name is Morgan, and I have four ferrets. Salem, from Marshall Farms, age 7. Gwendolyn, from Marshall Farms, age 3. Evelyn, from Marshall Farms, age 2. Bomber, from GFX Ferretry, age 2. I have owned ferrets for about 7 years now, and recently lost my boy Daemeon to insulinoma in October. He was 6 1/2 and we made the hard decision to put him to sleep. After witnessing all that he went through, how he declined, and eventually losing him, I made the decision that I am actually going to do it this time: put them on raw! We feed grain-free kibbles, but I want to take that extra step and give them the best. So far, we have not made a lot of progress. Bomber and Evie have taken to eating most raw, but Salem and Gwen are giving me problems. We started with ground chicken coated in salmon oil. That went pretty well, so we progressed to tiny fingernail-sized pieces of chicken breast. They eat it ok, but I can't get them to eat anything bigger, and they never seem to be very enthused about eating it. Last night I tried them on chicken heart and gizzard in teeny pieces, and that went quite well. Salem seemed to actually like the heart! We still can't do it sans salmon oil though. Anyways, it is nice to be back, and to see some familiar faces. I will try to be more active again. Looking forward to getting enrolled in the mentor program.

Hi and welcome back I'm sorry about the loss of your little one. We've been seeing a high mortality rate amoung our little insulinoma fuzzes the last couple of weeks I can certainly understand your change of heart about making the switch one of your priorities. Please check out some of the actual mentoring switching threads, there is a lot of information there. You can't post to those threads in particular but it might give you some ideas about how to progress from where you are now. Also, ask questions, pick the brains of the people on board. There are quite a few who are in process right now and they can help by sharing their experiences with you. They also may have ideas that you haven't tried yet I hope that you will post some pics of your little ones when you've got time. Good luck, I hope that I will be seeing you around. Remember the way to make the most of this experience is to participate ciao

Hi Heather! I remember you from a while back. Thanks for the welcome. Will be sure to jump right in some of the other threads. I love posting pics of my kids, so you will all see plenty, I assure you! In fact, here are a few to tide you over. Salem on her 7th birthday, Dec. 28th. Evie, being as cute as she can be: Gwenny(what ferret doesn't love bags?) And this is my latest addition, GFX's Caution: Low Flying Aircraft aka Bomber. They had a blast in their fall dig box.

I have a serious addiction. My toon is already geared in all 346+ and I've almost gotten the Glory of the Cataclysm Hero acheivement. I'm gonna be sad panda when school starts again and I can't play 24/7

Hi, Morgan! Gwendolyn and Bomber have stolen my heart. What cuties! (They're all cute of course). Beautiful fall leaves photograph. You're going to love being back! This forum has already been ceaselessly helpful to me even though I haven't been here long, and unlike other ferret forums I haven't been picked at or pushed around once. Everyone is pretty respectful.

Thanks guys! Moose, I play pretty casually. I used to play like you do, but I'm just not as into it now. Cataclysm's newness is starting to wear off. So here's what I'm trying. I saw a thread where someone said that you can start by making the kibble wetter until they are eating it completely wet, and then start mixing in a little ground meat until they are eating only the ground meat. So right now, we're on day 2 of making the kibble wetter. I think they will eat it completely wet, but I'm taking baby steps just to ensure I can get my kiddos on the ground.
