I know the best punishment is to give the ferret a time out by putting them back in their cage. Question though. If their cage is decked out or has toys, doesn't that defeat the purpose?
Does anyone have a time out area/box/etc...?
Pics if you have them?

Yes i have a time out box, for biting mostly lol. I was told that there should be nothing in the time out area, or they will just play. As well no more then a few minutes in time out... or they forget why they are there. When my kit bites we pick him up say NO (though he`s deaf we still do this lol) then put him in time out crate . He`s usually only in there about 3 mins. Then he comes out to play again. OUr crate is just a small dog crate with a blanket thrown over it.

I just use a tiny cat crate, one of the veri-kennels. I also have one of the large cages but it has absolutely nothing in it except a litter box ciao

Yea, I use a cat taxi too. They get MAD when put in there tho. But I was really consistent w Vanilla Bean bc she is destroying my carpet and deaf... so though I still say "no!" I feel like its more for me than here lol...and I can say I have really seen some improvement.

Good thing my kids are (mostly) good enough I don't need to correct much anymore...the cat carrier went from being a time out place to being used for trips to the park so I can't stick them in there without getting their hopes up. If they see me walking towards it they put themselves away (Mokkun will even pull the door mostly closed on himself) and flat-ferret to let me know they'll be very depressed if we don't go

That's too cute. I use one of the my first pet cages for transportation. They all know that it means a car ride and they bicker and carry on as to who gets in there. I pulled it out one day to take Pooka to the vet and when I came back there were 5 ferrets stacked in the hammy....Fun-Go and all his business were in there waiting for a car ride The hammy by the way, was really made for one or two ferrets....I couldn't believe how they had stacked themselves for the trip. ciao

Not that time...Pooka knows no ferret friends. She's accepted no other since the death of Babushka ciao
