For a while, I had Titan going almost exclusively in the litter box. But for the past few days it seems that he's gone everywhere but the litter box. Mostly in the same corner that the litter box is on, but on the shelf above it. I'm thinking about putting a small litter box for him there too. That way it will either block that corner and hell go to the normal litter box, or it will at the least keep me from having to wash the blanket that's there every day lol.
He also insists on eating in the litter box. Even when I had the feeding den in the cage he would still go for the litter box a lot of the time. Is there any way to correct all this behavior, or is it just normal? I'm worried that he'll eat the litter. It's paper pellet litter, kind of a knock-off of Yesterdays News.

How often are you cleaning the litter box? My girls will refuse to use it unless it's scooped daily. They also get confused if it's too clean, so I always keep a little dirty litter in it.
Clean the level really well and the cover it on blankets. Most ferrets won't go to the bathroom where they sleep.
I don't know how to deal with the eating in the litter box. I've never had the problem...
Good luck and hope your little one returns to good potty habits!

Has anything changed to tick him off I would be resorting to hard core litter training on him, especially if there`s nothing wrong. One level, one litter box. You don`t want a little poop like I have with Thor. I`ve never been able to get him to use a litter box except by accident. He`s a bit defective though....mentally and socially challenged ciao

and boys are more complicated because they pee out of their belly... it seems to be most about finding the right balance between clean and dirty my boys are still hit and miss it seems and theyre used to being put into the box i wish you luck on your poop journey

I removed hammocks and sleeping pouches and made it such that the only place Brady (and poor Jack) could sleep was snuggled in blankies on the floor. A few days and Brady figured it out and hasn't had an accident since. As for the eating in the box, Brady did that as well ( i think its their way of keeping it from the others) but he outgrew it. I didn't do anything special to stop that habit.

Thanks for the tips everyone. I knocked it down to one level with the litter box, feeding area, and water dish.
And I don't think I did anything to tick him off lol. The only change is trying turkey with him, maybe he doesn't like it like he likes his chicken wings lol.

Who knows what sets them off . It's rather like cats. I always know that I'm going to have poopy problems every time I have a rescue come in, but I've no idea why they will go for weeks with hitting the litter box and then suddenly think I'm need to get shares in a paper towel factory ciao

That's what I'm following now. At first I didn't think I would need it since he used the litter box 90% of the time. Then bam, no more use of the litter box lol. He's using it exclusively now. I think I'll keep following the boot camp for a few days just to be sure though.

That's always a good idea Then start introducing new levels one at a time, to make sure he stays good with it

So I was gonna add the shelf in the bottom for him today. But he decided that he was gonna stop going to the bathroom in his litter box, and start going in the corner that his food bowl goes in. He's now sleeping in his litter box lol.
