Just thought of something else to keep in mind for this cage. Some of mine can push open drawers from the inside. They get on their backs, put their paws on the upper side of the drawer(underside of whatever is above it), and pull. Until they get it open, then climb up on the counter, etc In other words- you might want to get a latch to put on the OUTSIDE of the drawer

Welcome. 8-in-1 is not a good food. If i remember correctly it has a lot of grain/corn/fruits/veggies. If you want to feed kibble, look for ones that have atleast the first three ingredients being meat and never any corn or grain. Evo has a decent one specifically for ferrets (although the cat formula is the same, just cheaper in price). Blue Buffalo's Wilderness line (for cats) is ok too and they have a duck and a salmon flavor (i think salmon).

if your ferret is going to be kibble fed there are a few charts that ive referenced it has the name of several different brands and types along with the first five ingredients and the protein and fat content of each one, it was pretty helpful, ive read that if you feed kibble its best to mix kibbles as ferrets get picky with foods and such ill see if i can find those charts for you, welcome to the forum and that home made cage is looking pretty BAMF

Yeah i bought the 8 in 1 because that was what i thought was the best food around me but i just researched and found a store kinda near me that sells both the Evo and Blue buffalo so i'll go buy one of them tomorrow thank you for giving me the heads up..Thank you for welcoming me to the forum also the cage is coming along and i like it. I finished all the doors last night i just have a couple more things to do to it than it will be done, like putting the front hardware wire on and putting protection on the floors and stuff from the pee and that's pretty much it so i'm pretty excited lol.I just want to finish the cage allready so i can get my fur baby but i know not to rush so i'm taking my time on it...For now i'm just getting one ferret but i may want to get more how many would i be able to fit in my cage do you think, i'd probably only get one more if i did so would two be ok in it?

it looks big enough for two, and if you arent going to spend copious amounts of time with the ferret i would suggest getting two, katt has a post somewhere about raising a single ferret, its almost easier to raise two just because you cant play with the ferret as much as they would like you to

we have one of these, and they love playing in it. Cutting the smaller end is good... our fatty boy could only go in one end and would get his rear end stuck in the other

Well i will be spending alot of time with it lol but i know having two is better because they have there own games they play together that humans cant really do with them and i will most likely get two but just want to start with one for now since this will be my first time owning one but my cage will be good enough for two?.I will eventually also make another level on the left side so left side will have three levels and right side will have two or three..3kaw yeah when i saw it i was like that's exactly what i'm looking for lol because i didn't really like the drainage pipes they weren't very flexible
