I feel like an idiot for making all these threads lol. I think this is my 3rd in this section haha...But my new little guy will sniff the chicken wing I offer, but not take a bite. I tried putting a few little pieces off and feeding it that way, but no luck. I've heard that if I can get a piece in his mouth and stay there, that's all that should be all that's needed since mine is relatively young. hes about 4 months old...Should I try mixing bits of the wing in with some kibble? My parents wont let me use the blender to grind it up for a soup or anything lol.

try just the meat first. shred off some of the chicken and try a "scruff and stuff" with a very tiny piece.

He didn't take to the scruff and stuff very well lol. He would usually either not open his mouth, or when he did he'd start squirming too much. I did get some in a couple times, but he'd start to chew and shake his head and the piece would fly out.

I would drizzle the meat with something - ferret-tone, olive oil (if he likes it) or just something tasty. Usually they're more interested and it will make it easier to get them to mouth it or accept it once you pop it in there (generally they're licking at it while your getting it on their tongue).

Maybe I'll work on that a little...What other flavors do they like? I'm trying olive oil now, and don't have any ferret-tone here.

it almost seems that he's too concerned with either playing, moving his litter box, or getting out to play. Should I stop trying to feed for a while and play with him and try wearing him out?

How long has it been since he ate - kibble? Brady went about 12 hours between having kibble at the petstore and chicken at my house and gobbled the chicken up at that point

We picked him up around 7:30...I don't wanna give in and give him kibble, but it's looking like I'm gonna have to. I don't want him to starve lol. Although I don't even know if he'd go for that now, I think he's drunk with his new found big cage and room that he can roam around lol.

Apparently, olive oil can be iffy - I didn't know b/c my guys love it to death. You can use meat based baby foods (turkey or chicken usually) and fish oil if you have it.
worse comes to worse, I would crush kibble and roll the diced meat in the kibble crumbs. I got my two year old rescue eating meat chunks the same night I got him doing that, plus it's not like you're just giving him kibble - there's good stuff in there, too

I also wanna get something to get the original pet shop smell off him. He was in a small cage with a few others and no litter box.

All of my crew were started with ground whole chicken, if you have some ground mix it with some water to make it on the soupy side and when it's time to eat pick up the fur butt and smear a bit on his nose, he'll be inclined to lick it off...after a few times doing this he should realize that the meat is not poision and should eat it by himself...but there are a few fuzz butts on here that may be just a tad spoiled and loves the extra attention he gets from his Momma when he's being stubborn and wants to be spoonfed!

[/quote That's another good idea, I'll have to try that one too. I'm starting to think that he's adjusting to his new environment. I just tried to feed kibble only and he still doesn't wanna eat. Seems like he just thinks he's wanting to come out the second the door opens.

...but there are a few fuzz butts on here that may be just a tad spoiled and loves the extra attention he gets from his Momma when he's being stubborn and wants to be spoonfed! Do I detect a slur on my baby boy? ? I'd go the ground with water route with him. Give him his kibbles, but take it away a few hours before trying the mush with him. Sit with him on your lap(scruff if you have to), and keep smearing it on his gums, and/or dabbing some on his nose. You can also do the same thing I do with Boris, and just hang on to him firmly, and basically put the spoon up to his mouth. Most feel almost compelled to lick when it's right there

No, no slur, but quite jealous that your fur brats show you they love you! Mine, not so much...as long as they have food they could care less of my commings and goings! Though I will say that my two blood thirsty fuzz might actually be comming around, I haven't been bitten in about 3 day or so...
