I believe that they can but the real question is if they will. Ferrets are not insectivores, so they shouldn't be a staple in the diet, but they might make a yummy snack. Also, if they are live, they would probably enjoy that as well.

yes, ferrets can and do eat bugs. My only concern with ferrets snacking on bugs is whether or not the bugs/worms they are eating have been contamintaed by insecticides/poisons.
I purchased for feeder crickets for my ferrets. The girls would eat them and reguritate them. The boys wouldn't touch them!

Whenever it rains, one of our cats will carry in the big nightcrawlers that end up on the sidewalk and leave them around the house (he's a proud hunter). 3 of the 4 ferts ignore them, but my girl Akiko will eat a few if I don't pick them up fast enough.

Willow also loves the earthworms. If I've got her outside after a rain, she'll go for them.

Lady "B" likes her earthworms too. You can usually find her slurping them up when she's playing in the dirt pile in the ferret yard. Now, some of the others may enjoy this wiggly delicacy but I've not witnessed it. ciao
